I can agree with you DistortedSmile, but the JAF feared that rising costs could blow Super GT apart. Thus, using the DTM ruleset is necessary.
Then again, I also agree that they did well on adapting that ruleset and made it better compare to their German counterpart. |

Good news.
Japanese Autosport web reported English news for the first time although it was Super Formula news. I wish that they'll also report English news about Super GT. |

Baby steps, but I think we'll all take it. The more JAF realize there is a dedicated international audience for SF & SGT, the better.
Also, Sam's been at it in the "quiet months" covering the NSX GT500 car last month and the Syntium Lotus Evora MC this month. I forgot to put a summary up of the NSX (and I've thrown away the magazine already) but I will do a summary for the Evora once I've read it myself. |

Seems Alonso was having fun in the gt500 NSX. He did some extra demo laps in it with Sato in the new street car during the Honda event at Motegi.

I think he'd have fun in any car that doesn't tear itself apart after a handful of laps at the moment!

@Juntos
Sorry, I don't get what you're saying... Back on topic, I wonder what is Pacific Racing Team's next move? I mean, they're scrambling on buying a new car. And as for their livery, I think that they might change it since μ's will be disbanded after their last concert in early Spring 2016. |

Have you been reading the latest RCE issue? Ricardo Divila posits this same comparison between motorsport and music, almost word-for-word. It's not a conclusion entirely without merit but I'm not quite sure it holds.

@J Jay
Unfortunately, I'm not subscribed to Racecar Engineering in regards to the full story. It's too expensive! Anyways, I wonder if Class One cars would get some cues from GTE class, chassis-wise? |

@ss_collins
If hybrids are confirmed that it's allowed in GT3 class according to this report from DSC, it'll be a huge boom for Honda as they'll finally make a NSX GT3 hybrid car. http://www.dailysportscar.com/2015/1...re-agenda.html |

According to Autosport magazine,
Aerodynamics development of GT500 will be freezed in 2016 season. Therefore, car appearance isn't different from 2015 cars. However, A scheduled downforce reduction plan wasn't adopted. The engine development and the tire development are free. It's expected to reduce downforce 25% in 2017. https://twitter.com/Isis48Platana/st...59542838550528 Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 8 Dec 2015 at 09:51. |

@Japanese Samurai
So the GTA are aiming for mechanical grip and somewhat close racing, huh? On the other hand, I'm glad that there's still engine development unlike DTM. |

Sad, though not surprising, to see SGT going the FIA's way. The racing is good on SGT, this is unecessary. They can't claim safety either as, comparing to Fuji's Coca Cola and 100R corners, LMP1s corners way faster and SF even more. Will they reduce SF downforce too? I guess not, so why this in a already much slower touring car?!

GT500's are heavier. More mass means they can't slow as fast. If they go off track and try to slow before hitting a wall, their higher speed means a bigger impact.

But also because they are heavier, they will go off track with a much slower initial speed(bar a failure or something) as their cornering speed is a lot slower. You seem to follow SGT more closely than I do, so, do you remember any dangerous situation to back up this 25% downforce reduction or is this just another measure to make it seem the organizers are being necessarily enough cautious?

If you watch any of the races this year or last year, they're multiple seconds faster than the previous records. The cornering speeds are very high. I don't want reduced downforce, but a crash like what the Denso had this year at Sugo probably scared the rule makers.
