Your lap record still stands at Buckmore Park Henry and long may it do so.
You will be sorely missed. RIP. |

The loss of a driver is always tragic, somehow the loss of Henry seems more so perhaps because of his age and because he seems to have been a genuinely nice young man; perhaps also because of the irony of his father having survived what was arguably one of the most dangerous period in motorsport, to lose his only son at a time when arguably motorsport is safer than it ever has been.
Sincere condolences to Henry's family, friends and the whole F2/MSV family. |

Henrys funeral was at 11am today. Let us hope that it is the last such funeral that will take place. I hope that every one thinks of Henry today and raises a glass to a fine young man.
My thoughts, as they have been sincce the accident, are with his father John, Mum Jane, his sisters and the rest of Henrys family and friends. R.I.P.Henry. |

I was out on Post 18 , Sheene Curve, again today, I said a few quiet words about what happened also observed a number of members of the public come up to the corner and taking the time for a few moments of reflection.

Just seen mention of Henry on Sports Personality of the year. I still can't believe that we lost Henry as we did. Nearly 5 months have passed for his family and Christmas is approaching, my thoughts go out to John and to all of his friends and family.

One year on, my thoughts are still with Henry's friends and family and all those involved. I know it's something that many of you involved still carry with you x
There was a nice tribute to Henry put up by the F2 guys over the weekend. |

I have just spent the weekend at post 18 as i did for this meeting last year. I was asked, after i had finished karting at the the Buckmore Park charity event, if i would look after a wreath that was going to be placed at post 18 by the F2 drivers. On arriving at post 18 on Friday morning I found a beautiful floral wreath in the shape of a H and surrounded by blue, just like Henrys helmet. The tribute was placed on the debris fencing as was a card from all the marshals that were on post last year. The flowers were watered each evening and looked fresh on Sunday evening.
Once again the thoughts of Sunday 19th July 2009 were fresh in my mind. My thoughts are once again with John and the rest of the Surtees family. R.I.P. Henry. |
