Agreed on LC2s, beautiful cars, quicker than 956/962s (I thought) but nowhere near as relieable. The car at Brands 86 was a private Mussato one, IIRC with Bruno G and de Cesaris. It went fairly well too I think. In the early Group C years, 83-85 I always hoped the factory would sell private cars to take on the 956 hordes, and even things up a little. Like many things in life though it never happened !

Patrese in '85 at Silverstone was awesome in practise, ran a 1.10.840, looked in the programme to see the average speed in the Lap Speed Table and the chart only went down to 1.11.0 ! (an average speed of 148.66 mph), he just failed to achieve a 150 mph average lap speed of the circuit.
In '86 they deserved to win at Silverstone for having the courage to race after the tragedy in Corsica. Last edited by dscwall; 2 Mar 2004 at 18:40. |

OK Ayse, just for you! I don't think I am a jinx though, took about a hundred with Bentley's in!! Hmm, I did get one of the 66 Saleen running and then later saw it coast to a stop at Tertre Rouge and later got a couple of it being loaded onto the recovery truck. http://www.mgcars.org.uk/midgetsprit...s200344big.jpg So, Debora then.... Cost you! |
