Let's hope so, beaing in mind that they put in the effort in the AsLMS races at the end of the season to do the job properly and qualify on merit. If they now go and pull a repeat of last year's stunt, then I hope the ACO tell them they're no longer welcome at any ACO rules race, anywhere....

[QUOTE=arakis;2626990]I still don't understand why do team owners have to drive at Le Mans, seriosly wouldnt it mean more to them for their car to win the dam thing! This way every one loses, it was painfull to watch Bergmaister and Overbeek give it everything just to see Naiman drop 10 sec a lap every lap.
If you owned a team, would you turn down the opportunity to drive? |

No AER/Mazda 2ltr T motors at all? Always quite liked them in a weird way, not massively exotic but always sounded nice and mechanical and like they were working hard. Was good seeing the glowing manifold through the back of the KSM car when it was going through Arnage.
Is the HPD engine a bespoke Honda product or is it co-developed with someone? |

So it is a Honda/Acura in house design then? What I mean is it isn't a re-badged AER or MZR-R? Will it have direct injection? Do the Honda/Acura V8s even have direct injection?
Sorry for all the questions. Carse |

But there is no sense in driving a Acura car in europe as the Acura badge isn't sold here. Therefore it's raced as a Honda/HPD. From Wikipedia: Quote:
Mike's site has some info on it too http://www.mulsannescorner.com/AcuraARX-01.html |

I realised about the Acura brand being unrecognised over here and therefore racing under the Honda banner. I know about the car and its development from an an LC75 and the V8 in that, it was the 2ltr T HPD engine in the RML Lola Coupe I was wondering about - I suppose I've had my question answered in CTD's post though and just didn't read it properly. Thanks for the help and info.

But if I had a top notch team that would actuali be capable of winning, like the Lizards, Imsa, Felbayer,---and I had only one entry, I would buy the best drivers for my car and hope to win and bring home a trophy, and have my team go down in the history books |

So there were 84 entries for the 55 places plus 10 reserves. Does anyone have any ideas who some of the 19 teams/cars that didn't make it on to the entry list are?
I suspect Noel Del Bello is one of them? |

Well, not sure RML to be the winner here... Will the Acura engine really get on well with the Lola coupé chassis/aerodynamics without problem To me a "real" Acura to be the real favourite, especially the Highcroft with Brabham and Pagenaud |

How well will the "real" Acura chassis/aerodynamics get on with the long fast Le Mans circuit without any problems? RML have more experience and data at the circuit (and Pagenaud may be in a Peugeot?). I'd move my money away from HPD/Acura altogether, maybe to Quifel Ginetta/Zytek? |

Also the Acura engine should be just fine! I expect it will have logged many simulated runs of La Sarte on the dyno by the time it arrives there! But I to look for the ARX-01c HPDs with Le Mans packages to be favoured also. L.P. |

That Lola/Acura combo is really exciting to me. We know the engine works (for 12 hours at least) and the Lola chassis has proven itself the last few years. Could be a force throughout the season, not just at LeMans

Tom,
The Acura (Honda) has been put into a Lola before. Fernandez Racing ran the Acura in a Lola B05/40. I belieive the Honda will fit into RML's Lola B08/86 in very much the same way. I like the Coupe of RML on the straight of Le Mans better than open top (typically higher downforce) Highcroft car. Plus this being Highcroft's first visit to Le Mans, I think there is the possibility of a few issues (there always are in a 24 hour race). As much as I love the Zyteks in P2, they seem to never have strong results at Le Mans at the end of 24 hours. The one exception being Binnie in 2007. That car won, but was limping around in the end in 16th place. The GT2 (IMSA) winner beat it. RML is due for a good result too! |

Well remebered! I'd forgetten that the Lola Chassis was one of the development chassis for the Acura LMP2 car. The other was a Courage which they eventually used and modified enough to homologate as an Acura in its own right.

It seems to me that the talk was that all GT1s this year would run by the FIAGT rules. If that is the case, it will be interesting to see how lap times compare to GT2. Wouldn't be surprised to see GT2 Vettes beat GT1 versions.

At Silverstone last year the LMS GT2 cars drove 1:48 in qualifying, where the FIA Gt1 Corvette drove 1:42 in qualifying! |
