I am missing the GT3s, but the P3s have been absolutely brilliant. I rate them far more than the LMPCs, which I've never been a fan of.
This proves the LMP3 formula imo. Just needed a decent chassis. Make a quality product and they'll buy it! |

#41 Greaves looks like it's done, in the garage. Leaves the lead battle down to G-Drive and the Barthez cars.
Edit - And now the #23 has problems, slowing to a crawl and taking to the other pit lane to stop. G-Drive being handed the victory on a silver platter. |

Edit - Dolan finally pits. G-Drive just making sure that they don't fall foul of driver time limits

This was more than a little bit wild. What are they doing? All contenders just failing, except #38 and the LMP3 spinning left and right!

Yeah, let's not do anything with our car (#11 LMP3) and let it exit the pits, even though it's cheese wedge is dragging along behind it held only by a single tether...

#29 lost a wheel at Abbey (I think). Got to be a FCY to recover the wheel on-track.

Judging by the bollard which was pinned to the front of the car, that wheel was lost after an off.

Van der Garde just did the fastest lap on the very last lap!
Overall an easy victory for Jota/G-Drive after getting past the Barthez car |

So if you wanted to win today, you either had to be British or be driving for a British team...

It was a fun race to watch. Shame for the Barthez team, they were on for a great result in their first race. It was interesting to see Dolan hunting down the leading driver for once, there have been many races in the past where it was the other way round. Jota clearly were the best team today, and the win was well-deserved.
By the way, I love all the colourful liveries in ELMS. Despite the mess at the start, watching 35 prototypes stream through the first corner was just great. |

Absolute chaos out there today. Can't wait for Imola, a proper track that will be much less forgiving.

According to the ELMS race report, the GTE class winning JMW Ferrari No.66 has been excluded from the results due to a splitter infringement promoting the Beechdean Aston No. 99 to the class win and the no. 96 Aston has been given a 4 minute penalty for contact with the no. 56 Ferrari although the results page hasn't been updated to show the final classification.

Huge field, tonnes of battles. Top value!
Decent series this now isn't it? That LMP3 flat plane V8 sound could get a bit grating after a while though. |

Some beautiful pics there ... great pit shots ... and you really showed the overwhelming ugliness of the new Audi R18.

Wait till next year when you have 3 engine sounds for the entire field. The spec LMP2 engine, the Spec LMP3 engine and the Ferrari 488 engine.

I'm not sure all Ferrari teams will instantly upgrade to the 488, since the new GTE cars must be quite expensive. The old 458s might circulate for a few more years.
