marc sproule should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
i can't believe it was 30 years ago....

Chandon was in one of Fred Opert's cars. And yes Christie Brinkley was his girlfriend at the time.

Somewhere buried in my archives I have an image or two of them together in the pits at a race. Don't remember where.

I believe the car involved, a Chevron B34, is back in the UK and racing hard.

I do, but can't remember which year it was, some time in the late 70's. It was a Moggie 1000 that came off, the driver was still in the car when we got to him and it was precariously balanced against a tree. So as we extracted the driver we tied the B post around the trip to stop the car from falling in the lake. I don't remember who the driver was, but he was OK ,just a bit stunned......

Hodgetts

I seem to remember Chris Hodgetts telling me that he had put Richard Lloyd in the Mallory Park lake

Mike Whatley's F4 March almost made it to the Cadwell lake in 1979...

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Craig Breedlove at Bonneville. I suppose technically it wasn't a lake but a drainage ditch draining the lake.
