I'd say putting in 33 and 44 are safe bets as givens.
I would be more cautious about 48.
Comprent as of yet have no signed drivers, so no budget.

I'm not getting too upset about 2010. It's a transitional year with all the changes coming for 2011. Definitely some concern with ALMS keeping it together until 2011, but guess we have to stay optimistic.

Remember when ALMS was purchased by NASCAR? Let's try not to go down the doom and gloom path prematurely.

For a series that's only been around a decade, they sure have had a lot of "transitional" years, haven't they?

This is what, the 6th or 7th "transitional" year now?

No Panoz for next year.

Mundill has never had the funding, doubt it will ever happen.

Haha, fair enough. The thing about it for me is that the works teams bring a level of professionalism to the race that truly makes it feel like F1 for sportscars. To me at least. While the Corvette and RLR operations bring a professional feel, they are GTs, definitely not an F1 feeling.

I'm picturing Jon Field taking out half the prototypes on the first lap, the remaining prototypes retiring because they don't have proper spares (that professionalism thing) and a GT car winning. Ridiculous I know, but I work in absurdity the way artists work with paint or marble.

I hedged my bet and bought Mid-Ohio and PLM tickets yesterday anyway.

Yup, it's the same Tim Pappas organization that ran the Team Transport Porsche before that. He seems to like the inexpensive nature of the GTC class...

More properly, it's the same person behind the banner. Team TranSport was the banner 3 years ago but the crew that ran the Porsche was actually Bell Motorsports.

Porsche keeping their only American driver racing in the US - that would make sense to me. But then there was that business of Pat being involved in some regional stock car races......

Plus Pat and Seth are about the same size so it'd make for a slightly less complicated pit stop.

I've gotta think it'll be a LONG year for whichever factory driver gets stuck with Nieman though...

While we are on the Lizards, does Darren Law bring any money to the picture?

Don't think Law brings money. With Van Overbeek being touted as a Lizard in this past weekend's Thunderhill 25 Hours, do we still think he is a Ferrari man next year?

Some have been insinuating that is why he has been doing stockers. I think he has been doing them to long to be racing stockers as a result of this particular potentiality. I'd like to believe he runs in stockers because he loves to race, not as a backup if sportscars blow up in his face.

I'd say 1999-2002 was better personally.

Well if the Porsche factory driver deal falls through, where else in motorsports right now can he get a ride that pays him to drive instead of the other way around? Would anyone in ALMS pay him to drive their car if the Porsche deal fell apart? I'd love to see him in an Indycar but I know the teams would all ask him to bring money.

Regardless, the more he races the better I say. The racing world needs more A.J. Foyts and other great drivers of that era that are unafraid to race everything.
