Some guys are like that...Tony Stewart comes to mind, as does Robby Gordon...they just like to race, and will jump in a dirt car, off-road racer, or open wheel indy car because they want to compete.

DSC reports Genoa Racing to field an LMPC in 2010 after a successful Atlantics campaign in 2009. That makes 3 teams (with intentions of) fielding the LMPC cars for next season so far.

There have been only two official announcements thus far (Intersport and Genoa). Comprent's announcement was more or less showing their interest, if the right partners step up..
At this point, I think four LMPCs on the grid (as Atherton's original prediction) is on target. |

The key man in their operation is Thomas Knapp, Team Manger & Engineer, who worked for Team Menard in the IRL in 1999 when they won the championship. They have been based in Indy for a while now...well respected in OW circles... Let's just hope that Jonathan Summerton is one of the LMPC pilots...the guy has a lead foot and is very quick and talented. |

Dyson will be testing next week at Sebring with the Biobutanol fuel. They also mention upgrades "will be coming" from Lola, but doesn't say they will be there for next weeks test. If anybody is in the Sebring area and can get a view of the track, let us know if 1 car or 2 cars are testing.

Both of the above articles are bits of good news. If the biobutane article is true, it seems to me that at least one car will be BP sponsored. Hopefully the rumors of a reduction in sponsorship are just that.

Corvette scares me a lot more than Ferrari going into next year. How amazing would it be if we got 2 cars full of Porsche factory drivers for the Lizards. Pat/Jorg in one car and Henzler/Maassen in another? I'd think they'd need to do that if they wanted any chance of beating Corvette for the team title next year.

I knew there wouldn't be factory shoes in the 2nd car, but I wish there were. Seems to me Flying Lizard is more or less conceding the teams title already and just hoping for the driver title with Pat and Jorg.

Hadn't there been talk of one of this years GTC teams moving up to GT(2) for 2010? Has anyone heard anything else on that front?
