groupnxu1, anything from the shell up but basically most parts there ,but not a restored car. I like to tool around myself although I am no mechanic
Commodore or Ford would be good but they seem so scarce ( those for restoration anyway) that I guess I would look at most cars. A Group C Ford would be my pick but they are not available from what I can see Bathurst history would be nice |

In the 83 Bathurst there was 14 Rx7's. 2 were the Peter Stuyvesants cars of which Bowden owns one and the other recently appeared on ebay and was a mess. The only one I have seen on the track recently is the BF Goodrich car which I think was the Ron Gillard car. Majority of them ended up as Sports Sedans. Not sure which ones became the Ezi Pav cars run by the Stone's. Graham Neilson was running a Rx7 that may have been ex Group C in 1991 and John Cook had an Rx7 that could have been an ex Group C car. I have a vague memory of Shiel running an old group C rx7 in sports sedans at one point. Does the slick 50 Peter Mcleod car still exist?? That always looked the goods. |

There is a book about the Mazda Rx7 & Moff's use of them... I would be surprised if there werent at least 5 built... the original one with help from Japan, the one Cesario destroyed, the spanker built for Bathurst 1984 and the other two used in between...

I thought there were actually 4 Moffat RX7's 2 R/H drives and 2 L/H drives.
I think the first car is the car that is here in Sydney, that pops on and off Ebay. I have heard the price that the owner is asking, and believe me, he is going to own it for a while. The second car, a R/H drive was destroyed in the Surfers crash involving Wilmington. The final 2 were the L/H drive cars, one of which is in the Bowden shed. I have that Moffat book at home, but i think the info is in the 1984 James Hardie book. The mystery is where's the other L/H drive car located?? |

The Peter McLeod Slick 50 car was ownd for a while by Charlie Senese in the mid to late '80's & raced as a sports sedan (IIRC still in Gp C spec). Not sure after that though...

I'm with 4 Moffat Mazda's as well;
- 1981 car debuted at Sandown - LHD car built for enduro's in 1982 - New car built after 1983 ATCC (co-incided with the 13B acceptance) - New car built after the Surfers crash in 1984 |

If this is the 6 speeder, would this be the ex Matt Wacker car as i do remember reading an article about Matt buying the car, which only had the 5 speed, then returning to Allan to buy the 6 speed. The negotiated price was $1000 per gear, so Matt arrived with $6000 in hand, to which, Allan said "It has a reverse too!" Matt had to scrape up another 1k and the box was his!! |

The one which was updated to IMSA spec and raced in the 24 hour isn't stubbers as I spoke to a guy who owns that car (still in IMSA spec atm apparently) So there might of been 5 in the end.
