That's just one of the reasons that makes France such a civilised country - in my opinion of course.

Ah, but I read the other day that there is an egg shortage in France now that a number of producers have closed down (or been closed down) rather than pay the costs for updating their chicken housing specifications to the latest EU standards. I was amazed. I had read about UK egg producers calling it a day (the chickens would have better lifestyles than the owners) and was not surprised at all about the effect of the regulation. But to hear similar tales of France is, frankly, almost unbelieveable. Have so many Brits decamped over there that acceptance of Laws is becoming the norm?

One of my favorate adverts is the one where the shop keeper has a thousand cream eggs in stock as he ran out the previos year.
He opens the shop and all the kids rush in and the first little lad ask to buy the lot.

Thats a coincidence Dave well you have to stop at all the stop signs even if on the main drag or get nicked so what can you do? BTW they have just arrested two guys for poaching the rhinos, a traffic cop and a park official!!!

3 days without any teabreak natter! BTW what is it in tea that messes up the cups so much?

I'm strugging manfully with a coldy flu thing having gone through winter without a sneeze. Decided to get some medicine this afternoon, and came home with packet of shortbread, ginger & chocolate cookies, TtD choc chip shortbread squares and a carrot cake......

If they don't aid recovery nothing will!

We hold clubnights for marshals once a month, and have done so continuously for the past 5 years. Iain stood in at the very last minute as substitute for Lord Paul Drayson as Paul had to be at the House of Lords for a vote. I`m sure this will look good on Iains CV as last 2 guest speakers have been Christian Horner and Anthony Davidson. Next month is planned to be Andy Priaux. Thanks to Iain for standing in at the last minute.

Should anyone wish to come and be a guest speaker for us just PM either myself or Fay.

Typically most mechanics cups are like that, I'm sure that i could make a cuppa by just pouring in boiling water and adding milk n sugar !

In the right place you wouldn't need the milk or sugar either.

There is a danger of this thread falling off the end of the page. So here is a picture of Iain just after he won the Jaguar C.C. Enduro race at Snetterton in 1999. Yes, he did have some hair under that cap.

That was my first race meeting, in my V12 automatic TWR XJS!

My first race was red flagged as there was an accident at Riches, then a car caught fire on the grid whilst we were waiting for the restart & I spent the whole race looking in my rear view mirror for cars lapping me at an alarming rate.

Finished the race & said ok I've tried racing & don't like it one bit, but I was entered in the Jaguar Challenge which was the race after next, so my family & friends persuaded me to put some more fuel in & do the second race.

Down to the assembly area & there's one of the CUT 7 E types & various other interesting cars, I had a brilliant dice with Dave Woodgate in his S Type & beat him - so the bug bit & the rest as they say is mystery!
