Yes, the Cunningham won in 1953-Florida built and powered by a Chrysler V8.

Saving face here (possibly); only two all American chassis/engine/driver overall win combination: 1)Briggs-Cunningham/Chrysler/Gray-Kulock 2)Chaparral 2/Chevy/Hall-Sharp |

Was kinda hoping the "bigger on track presence" for Pickett wouldn't be a step backward class-wise. But I guess they're supporting the series and getting new drivers in, so that's some good.

My Top 3 guesses:
1. Audi R8 or other new car/manufacturer 2. Jaguar RSR gone 3. Future plans of Risi and/or ESM. |

Could be confirmation of Falken's program.

Too bad, Muscle-Milk decided to add an LMP-C car to the roster. Maybe they're hoping to expand gradually, replace that with a full LMP1 car next year |

It is the Audi R8 story.
http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...-homologation/ Not likely ready until 2013 Note, Mercedes is looking at homologation as well. Last edited by Fogelhund; 7 Dec 2011 at 05:04. |

But what we can get from the article is that Audi went to the ACO to get homologation, but the ACO wouldn't accept certain parts of the Audi R8 LMS (ironically), like the 5.2L V10. So Audi went to the IMSA, they said "Sure, we'd like to accept you, but we need approval from the ACO".
So the Audi R8 will get special approval, it will be eligible for the ALMS if it's finished, but NO other ACO events or series (so no 24 Hours of Le Mans, no LMS (ironically again), and no WEC). Still, good to see another GT in the ALMS! Edit: I should also mention that the car is basically a Grand-Am Audi R8 LMS with a slightly different air-restrictor. Also, no teams have made an offer to buy the car yet, but Audi expects some customers to line up in the next couple of months. Last edited by FstrthnU; 7 Dec 2011 at 05:04. |

Bit disappointed they didn't use atleast GT3 bodywork instead of the restricted GA bodywork...or make it interchangeable.
