Couple of interesting little tidbits on 3News
1) Angus Fogg is headed to V8ST (likely to be a Holden) 2) Greg Murphy set a new lap record for a Touring Car around Hampton Downs. |

Only time I can find from nzst website
Although it was just a shakedown test, the drivers completed a significant number of laps, with the cars running right up until around 7pm. Lap times were quick, with 1 minute 4.3 seconds the benchmark set by the end of the day. The testing continues across the country's circuits although the first major series test will be on February 10th at Hampton Downs and will be free to the general public. |

Pity though. I thought actually they did some testing of the prototype there though? Will have to troll through some old Facebook pages... |

Jeez thats impressive, and just think there is every chance the ST's will be doing similar qualifying times at HD. That Chesters car just sounds mental !! |

I think the key word is "Touring Car", Chesters car isn't a TC, it's a GT1 monster, would think the only other Touring cars to get around the track are the current stlye NZV8's, by the way, who was in the NZV8 running with the ST's on Monday? and which chassis was it?

I did see the number 23 on the tyres of that car....could it be boothy's car from last year? afterall it turned up in the AV8 truck. But to be honest i' would only be guessing at best. One thing i did notice however was how slow that car was compared with the new ST's....it looked slow even for and NZV8 |

After watching this a couple of times....
http://www.3news.co.nz/VIDEO-Onboard...6/Default.aspx I notice that GM was left foot braking and flat shifting on the up and obviously blipping the throttle with the down shift....just like he does in a V8 Supercar. The whole clip is pretty much clutchless....which i personally like being a left foot braker myself He looks very comfortable in the car, and seems to settle quickly. The gear changes are very slick and smooth. I think too that the Orix car was also left foot braking, especially down into T6. Where we were standing you could see the brakes lights come on before he'd backed off the throttle, there was a good 2 second delay between the brakes lights and the release of throttle, so maybe just modulating the throttle a wee bit into the sweeper, while keeping the car flat through the corner with his left foot. Just an observation really |

[QUOTE=MarioNZ;3019657]Oooh....a reason to spend ages doing pointless sleuthing on the interweb!! Love it!
I don't think that's last year livery, but you might be right. I know the people who bought the car Booth ran last year and Michael Bristow drove it for them at Pukekohe. He got tangled in the multi-car pile up and retired it, and hasn't been seen on a track since. |

[QUOTE=MarioNZ;3019710]I think you're right. The one you found a photo of has the Parker-Enzed logo on the bonnet, and that's a few years old.
