Sad news.
Tokai University Professor Yoshimasa Hayashi retires this year. He was a schedule for retirement age last year. However, he offered one year of adjournment and covered race expense and development expense this year at his own expense. The Le Mans project of Tokai University will be ended. The last parade running is carried out at Fuji on January 22, next year. http://news.kanaloco.jp/localnews/article/1112070008/ |

That's a real shame. Couldn't they have pre-empted this and found a replacement professor? I can't imagine it is a cheap course to run.
In other news seems like John Dagys is teasing a bit more WEC news this evening. Hopefully it will be something good. |

I am sad to hear that. Tokai always struck me as being totally in the proper Le Mans Spirit, a David battling Goliath!

That's sad that Tokai University's program will end upon the retirement of Professor Hayashi. Maybe another Hayashi would like to take over? Like someone from Dome?

That sad, i'm always cheering for the little fighter programs, Tokai, WR/WM and Lotus.

Yeah funny how the tide has turned slightly. Going to be impatient now waiting to find out who this new team/engine is. Hopefully some strong line-ups. LMP2 should be right up there with LMP1/GT-Pro next season. One mistake and it's over for a win.

Lola need to do their math , end of . The results speak for themelves . I dont think they build a very good car , just take a look at what Toyota/Rebellion did with some wind tunnel work ..... Best Lola out there , again the results say so . |

Right now I would like to see Porsche supplying a customer engine , along with Ferrari . Which both could do easily .

There's certainly reason to think that the Oreca 03 is better than the open-top Lola P2. We did not see a Lola-Nissan last year, but even then the Race Performance Oreca-Judd was generally faster than the Pecom Lola-Judd. That's not a lot to go by, but it is something. Perhaps the coupe will close the gap. Of course, I don't know if these unknown unannounced Lolas will be closed or open top variants.

I had no idea where to post this. My french is... well, rusty to say the least, and the translator makes no sense at all. Does anyone know where this is heading? VLN?

It seems to be posting about Albert Motorsport receiving their new Porsche 997 RSRs and planning to run in a 'Winter Championship' starting in Zandvoort in January. Racing in Holland in January? Wet, cold and maybe slightly icy racing?
The reference to the N24 is a mention of the fact that the team tends to participate in that competition, so perhaps they will be competing there with the Porsche. |

...but to do what? Do we see Henri stepping the team down to GTE to run a customer Vantage, or is this a deal for Pescarolo to run an Aston engine in their LMP chassis- and which one?
A version of the Vantage's V8 for LMP2, or staying in P1 with the turbo straight-six from AMR-One....? If it's the latter, I hope to heavens it's getting some serious development over the winter.... |

No way Henri Pescarolo would go to LMP2. He'll stick to LMP1- or nothing at all.
