I've suggested this before, but you could always try the CSCC series - 40 min races etc. A mini would be eligible for Swinging Sixties, Tin Tops, & Future Classics! Take your pick or run in all 3!

Note the CSCC have a 1 hour race at Spa and a mini would also be eligible for the invite to the Nurburgring 300 Km race.

You'd be best off addressing that question to the CSCC Office, I'm afraid.

Have a look at the regs for each series on the CSCC web site in the first instance.

The main issue may be suitable tyres as the CSCC series all run on List 1A/1B tyres - are such things available for Minis?

And that's the nub of the problem, Andy. As far as I can see only Yokohama produce a List 1A/1B 10" tyre suitable for track use and the compound and limited width make putting the power down very difficult. Having used then for sprinting I am not sure that they would cope with a race distance without serious overheating.

Unless anybody out there knows differently??

Dunlop produces the D93J in 10" which is in list 1B. In my experience, it can handle any amount of heat, doesn't aquaplane in torrential rain, doesn't wear badly, and is road legal. Not quite as quick as the Yokos I am told, though. Price is also reasonable.

There does appear to be List1B tyre options available then.

The 032r tyres will put up with race distances, i used them for 2 seasons with no major troubles except they dont grip like slicks.

Well I'm afraid that not being able to run slicks puts me off the idea.
Altough have to say the race options sound good otherwise!

Are they going to Oulton Park next year, I was up there on Friday and it's a great circuit, would really suit the minis.

Good video Lee, whens that from? Recognise a fair few cars in there.

Slightly off topic but what camera and mount setup do you use in Bill's mini, looks pretty solid but I can't stop mine vibrating to the point where it's useless...

I think it was from 2003 or around that time.

The camera mount in the Mini is a self made item.

Any of you know where to get one of those long full view rear mirrors like some of the miglia drivers use?
Let me know
