It was reported Aleshin had re-signed with SPM but it turns out this this is not the case.

Anybody else think Munoz and Daly might make some noise at Foyt?
I'm curious to see how Sato responds to the Andretti operation (and vice versa). Wonder if Hildebrand will be able to do anything noteworthy at ECR? Just three random thoughts for a Wednesday evening... |

I am excited by the prospects of Daly and Hildebrand.
ECR really had their car sorted in 2016 and hope that continues in 2017 and beyond. |

A lot of Munoz and Daly factor will depend on sorting out the technical stuff. I believe they run #4 and #14 from different garages, I hope they will sort out the technical/engineering people for both of them. But yes, Munoz and Daly could/should win a race, that's at least one, and obviously Munoz will be force at Indy 500, as always. This is the strongest Foyt team in decades imo.
Ie Hildebrand, he's had gaps, where he did not compete, tough and ballsy call for 21 by Ed, hope he'll be a winner as predecessor. So we are waiting for Aleshin and #11 being confirmed now. |

Would be a sad end should KV not make the bell. Hopefully the Maldonado deal is sufficient enough to support the team.
If Mr Kalkoven has lost the love of open wheel (remarkable considering he saved champcar), maybe enough water has passed under the bridge that G Forsythe could be tempted back to purchase the KV assets |

If Maldonado is racing they need to lecture him and make sure he uses his common sense, considering ovals are fast and surrounded by walls

as Carlin announced they will very likely not join IndyCars in 2017 with KV (they wanted to race with Aleshin), it's the only chance to remain KV on the grid. But I think it's a very unserious chance. In reality we will have a team less in 2017...

Autosport say that Maldonado isn't interested in ovals, so it sounds like the deal will make kv a part time team anyway. A shame. I'm not sure who will be in the second smidt either if aleshin's payment is blocked again.

I'd like to know what is behind the very possible demise of KVRT? Kevin Kalkhoven, is co-owner of Cosworth, the rights owner of the Long Beach Grand Prix, a founder of Champ Car and joint owner of KVRT, which started as PKV Racing in the Champ Car series; so a very high profile.
However, despite all that, he has never had the success one might have expected. His best result was winning the 2013 Indy 500, with Tony Kanaan driving. Apart from that he never won a series championship, whether it was Champ Car or IndyCar. He is obviously not short of money but I wonder if he has just lost the drive, the motivation to run a team that's had such limited success? |

Kalkhoven himself has said nothing about closing the team. It makes no sense run part-time either, they'll lose the money from Indycar for last year's finishing position in the championship.
