Doesn't count for qualifying.
Point taken though. I'll cut the ACO some slack, they appear content with the 2007 race and qualifying pace by virtue of even giving diesels potentially more performance with the P1 weight break, I guess they took the track changes into consideration. Still petrol P1's were at least 3 seconds off 3.30 during the race, nevermind running consistently under that pace, which is what counts, so they at least have much to find to match 2007 diesel pace, nevermind 2008 pace! Their talking about a new Emirates based sponsor for Pug . I cant see it being an oil related company as there is already "Total" sponsorship on the car , but the airline "Emirates" is big into advertising , and that might also coincide with the soon expected Airbus A380 for their fleet .
Just a thought is all . Those Sebring times are still looking good . I wonder if Audi are sandbagging again ? |

The fastest lap time of a session for a given car tells us nothing. What I'd love to know is the kind of times they are getting on long runs (read race pace). If we could compare Audi and Peugeot in that respect we'd learn a lot.

The Pug in high speed corners especially all of 17 the car has a lot of tire screeching. I have never heard this amount of noise from tires on any car at Sebring. Does anyone have any input on this noise?

The more names I hear linked with Peugeot, the more I believe we will see a third Pug at Le Mans.

I can see a third car being present at Le Mans. Winning that race must be their main priority at this point in time. Not to mention, they will be taking Audi on in the LMS (and maybe Sebring). I can't see anything else beyond that.

Two interesting non-official informations about Peugeot drivers for 2008 Le Mans !!!
Peugeot spokesman after Sebring test told a canadian newspaper that Jacques Villeneuve is still possible for the Le Mans race in the team !!! Today Auto-Hebdo magazine reveals that ex-F1 driver Jean-Pierre Beltoise's son Anthony would be part of the team in the third 908 If we gather all the non-official informations regarding drivers, we have the complete Peugeot crews for the Le Mans race 908 number 7: Gené/Minassian/Villeneuve 908 number 8: Lamy/Sarrazin/Montagny 908 number ?: Beltoise/Wurz/Zonta Can't wait for the 15th february to see if my guess is true |
