Every summer, vacationers traverse the globe in search of new sights and experiences. It is a good time to put our head in place.Tomczyk knows he would lose his DTM seat anyway. GT3 is good for him.

Isn't that a bit strange: almost only Wittmann wins and scores good points while other BMW drivers usually ...e-e-ehm... struggle with cars' performances? It's a conspiracy of some sort, but won't there be any connection to compensation weights - to calculate and pull out the best possible outcome with the least weight penalty based on average speed of all factory drivers? It's a wild theory but with latest innovative thinking of Merc in F1, making nonsense out of sporting regulations on penalties for ICE and ERS changes, and knowing almost all sorts of special politics in DTM - who knows.

Since they're reducing cars to 6, would it be better if DTM allows two drivers per car?
Then again, it won't happen and unless they attract the likes of Nissan and Toyota, having a reduced grid is no good for the series. |

They're definitely reducing to 6 each?
I'd only read it was Mercedes who want to reduce. It'd be silly to reducde to 6 cars each with only 3 brands. 18-car grid? Hope not! |

Isn't TCR front-wheel drive only? I suppose they could race the Mini.

18 cars is a rather thin grid. DTM needs more manufacturers (Alfa Romeo? Jaguar?), and customer teams.

18 cars can produce awseomd shows. What DTM needs is less politics.

So, penultimate weekend over and 14 points in it, after Audi completely dominated the Saturday race and Wittmann's exclusion on Sunday. It all smells a bit odd to be honest.
Ekström won today in a race that even he called boring and he'll do WRX rather than DTM in two weeks time. Honestly, I'm waiting for the day they finally decide to call it a day. It's about time somebody else starts from scratch with new cars, new teams and new events. It's been 15 years without any real changes, the racing is just poor and the sporting regulations regarding DRS and BOP don't help either. |

If V8 Supercars and TC have 16 rounds, why can't the DTM?

By the way, will Germany's ban of internal combustion engines in 2030 affect DTM and other racing series in that country?
