the average system mask a bit the real difference. Loic Duval was close to run under 1.21; driver1 of #1 (don't know who, I bet Lotterer) marked 1.20.7. Fastest toyota lap is 1.21.3

Red flag for major debris on start/finish line.
I believe that's the flag of the Sao Paulo state. |

Red flag due to a flag on the pit straight.

Local yellow for debris--now red. I'd have to say game over with only 3 minutes left to go.

Only car might go back out is the #8, but it looks empty--seems Davidson called it a day.

Going to be a good race. Tire strategy will definitely be key here. With one of the Audi's spinning and a Lotus almost replicating it, the cars having to start on those tires, I wonder if it will hurt them at all? Then what compounds were the teams on for the start of the race? If its hot or cooler it can play a big part in how they perform tomorrow.

I was expecting a smaller gap between Audi and Toyota, it's almost 0.6.
Happy to see Porsche up there again |

I think is just a dirt area of the track, everyone can make a mistake and spin there, is not a compund matter in my opinion. Yeah accordign to official average laptimes, toyota is 0.2 slower than audi, reality tells that duval and treluyer can run 1.20.7-1.21; kristensen and fassler 1.21.2. Buemi and Davidson are a bit slower.

As long as #2 Audi didn't flat spot the tires too badly, tires shouldn't be an issue (I believe that the rule is that you have to start the race with 3 of the 4 tires used in Q for the sprint races unless it rains). Toyota had at least one big lock up during qualifying, so they didn't get off scot-free on tire abuse, either. If it's bad enough, they'd probably have to change at least the right front.
If this is a pattern that will set up for the race with Toyota on average being .2-3. slower, that will play into the hands of Audi, especially if Toyota can only milk one more lap per stint on fuel. But FP2 still showed that Toyota on a long run was 1.2 seconds on average slower per lap. We know that Toyota can't possibly be that much slower on flyer. I think what might hurt Toyota the most is traffic. Audi still seem to have an edge there. |

Toyota did 9 laps on their tires while the Audi that spun (which is much worse than a lockup) did 8 and the other did 12. So starting on those tires will be a factor to watch for especially if they plan to double stint them. Same thing with the Lotus in lmp2. |

Weather will be key with tire strategy, as always in each motorsport race.
There is not so much difference between 8 and 12 laps, basicly there is something less than 20km. Is hard now to see how much this will influence the first section of the race. If am I not wrong, each stint at interlagos is more than 30 laps, I doubt that audi will have the same wear rate issues of last year. |

Double stinting tires is over 60 laps. Thats when tires that are 4 laps freshser count.

Very relatively in my opinion. Audi very likely will need however to make more pit stop than toyota, to have first 2 stints of 28-29 laps instead of 30 doesn't change anything.

I don't understand your point, but I'm not arguing with you so I'm done on the subject.

It was a ride height infringement for #61.
