Yes, it is. As far as I know, KMS would like to take part in World RX again next year. They are talking intensively with Volkswagen Motorsport in Hannover to secure the budget. Alternatively, Johan has offers from other teams and KMS would take another way then (Euro RX, Rally X Nordic, STCC...?).

Johan K will probably be in WRX whatever happens with KMS since the title is his main target next season and he got offers.
KMS had plans of quitting after the 2015 season but then Marklund came along and Marklund has money. Now with Marklund gone it is hard to see how KMS would afford another season without having big backing. Tommy K told Swedish VF though that he wanted more technical support from VW, not money. Tommy K has also told VF in another article that they are working on their plans for next season. Further, apparently KMS didn't have any rallycross cars as of 7th december which strikes me as odd. Tommy K said that they would need to have cars built by Christmas in order to be on schedule with plans for next season if they are to do WRX. |

What about the plans of Galli?
We also have a driver with the new skoda Who planned a year in WRX. He was on the start line in latvia. Expect Solberg with a 2 car team (Mercedes or Hyundai) No chance OMSE will start with Honda in 2017? Also hear rumours for a New team from Gronholm. With Gronholm Jr. And Joni Wiman.don't know wich brand. Also hear the rumours of Renault Who were intrested. After all i think WRX will end up again to 16-18 permanent drivers. ERX will be limited to 25... but much more drivers are intrested. S1600 expect around 20-25 permanent drivers TC around 15 and lites (rx2) also around 15 next year. I go for Loheac as the highlight of the year with the extra French drivers and with S1600-ERX-lites beside WRX. |

I still wonder if the new wider body kits from WRC are allowed and something we are likely to see in ERX/WRX?

I think that Walfridsons Clios don't fully utilize the allowed width of the Clio because it would make the car awkward. Don't know much about cars though, maybe a wider body could make the car handle better. |

Correct, but since some of the cars already come with WRC inspired body panels...

True but the allowed maximum width is 10 cm, or 5 cm on each side at the moment. Also, WRC cars are far more advanced and developed with money pumped in that can't compare with rallycross really.

Oh, ok, thanks! I didn't even know that. Last time I recall was the 177 cm total width and that kit cars back then where even wider...

A quote from Galli's facebook page from after the round in Estering;
"What a pity haven't finished 2 heats but our project is brand new and we knew this could be happened. Now many tests await us. We need that!" Galli also posted a video on facebook today driving the Kia on a lake. |

Two car team from solberg is inevitable
He could justify a high fee, it would help his (clearly large) budget and he would probably have a queue at his door with a cheque book Also he probably recognises he could get some support from a teammate for his championship aspirations |

So whats the money on Mercedes or Hyundai??
Think this is an interesting one. The whole french rallycross and WRX can't have gone unnoticed with them and now they have an opportunity to promote a new model it would seem good opportunity - all depends on cash |

I'm guessing Hyundai since Hyundai said themselves they were looking at doing something in WRX. Having Solberg as an official driver, even if he would run his own team with support from Hyundai, would surely boost some more interest for them and Solberg would get the manufacture support that he wants.
As for Mercedes, is their any other reason for Solberg to use a Mercedes besides from being sponsored by Bertil O Steen? I mean he gets quite the help already from them despite driving a Citroen, they even helped rebuild his car after the crash in Canada. He is also an important figure outwards for the company. He wants manufacture backing too so I don't see really why a Mercedes would make the fit. These are just my thoughts on the matter though. Last edited by crossfades; 28 Dec 2016 at 12:59. According to Max Pucher´s Facebook account, World RX Team Austria will be back with Timerzyanov and Baumanis next year. Moreover, Pucher would like to field in two more cars for guest drivers like Alexander Wurz or himself.

Any ideas/speculation as to what Timerzyanov and Baumanis would bring to the table in cash for their budget contribution????

TT is in charge of a company with 200 employees I think. He is wealthy anyways though.
I don't have any info on Baumanis but since both he and his brother have been driving for Set Promotion and Baumanis competed last season in WRX, money don't seem to be a problem. |

Yes can appreciate both are wealthy just wondered what they bring the table because its a big investment from Puchar and I wondered what the contribution was from drivers to offset it.
What company is TT in charge of? Isnt his Dad a Govt minister? |

I have no idea. I guess they bring some money though since both have some of their own sponsors and they also have different liveries.

Me too. The layout of the track hasn´t been published yet, but I personally don´t like the idea of going to Silverstone. I will miss Lydden Hill. For me it does definitely mean to go there this year for the (probably) very last time with World RX...
