Like you I really hope he can give a good account of himself and begin to pick up his career from where he left off late in 2010. IIRC he was very quick in the Williams, and the engineers were well impressed |

Autosport shows Jaafar as testing for "KMP/Carlin". Anyone know what's going on there?

and considering that they couldn't get 2 full time drivers in last year when all but 1 of the other seats in the series were taken for the whole season... quite a few of their staff had gone elsewhere too.
it's a shame the team lotus thing didn't quite work out for fauzy and the team for whatever reasons. |

Just a quick note about the testing times the other day.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/96594 I'd never heard of Will Stevens but looks like he has some good speed, but mostly good to see Stoneman less than a second off the top time on the final day in his first test for around a year. Hope he gets back to his best soon |

Not sure of your point here but Fairuz Fauzy is a very good driver with some good results

When was the last time Fauzy did anything of note at this level? Chris was top 10 in the series for about 2/3 of the season having missed about the same ratio! |

fauzy's only really noticable result was at the nurburgring when he got a podium after a very early tyre change. he kept his foot in and ended up ahead of everyone else who hung on waiting for the weather to change. without any referring to results and going off the top of my head rosenzweig was better over the course of the season.

I had forgotten about that podium
It's about time that Fauzy takes his backing to a less 'urgent' environment where he could still give a good account of himself and achieve plenty of exposure like WTCC or the new WEC perhaps? |

[QUOTE=chunterer;2994550]
When was the last time Fauzy did anything of note at this level? Last June LRGP held a two day young driver assessment in Valencia. It was a head to head between Fauzy and Senna with last years F1 cars. Fauzy was quickest both days. |

Ok so do you really believe he's capable of making an impact in F1?

To justify myself as to good enough for F1 his results don't always show his true potential. I think given a good car he is as good as half the current F1 drivers. Proven when he was in the same car as Bruno Senna he was quickest every session over two days. In GP2 Asia he beat Senna, Kobayashi, D'Ambrosio, Chandhok, with only Buemi, Grosjean, and Petrov beating him. At that time he was certainly ready for F1 but his backers in Malaysia never came through for him. To his credit Tony Fernandes saw the potential in Fauzy and gave him a testing role in his new team, but thats all he got he was never developed as an F1 driver and in my opinion suppressed by Gascoyne. Last season he was the stand out 'reserve' driver at LRGP but without backing never got a chance. At the same time he had a disastrous GP2 season for reasons not all down to him. |

Williamson will race for Arden in the 2012 season and will also be part of the Red Bull junior program. Good for him, and good for the series.

Good to see Williamson step up with Arden, hopefully he can be a frontrunner next year. Who else has been announced so far?

Pointless in GPHusqvarna with Atech CRS so hardly sounds a promising addition to the grid... but he did show some form in various lesser FR2.0 series/F.Abarth. Jury's still out on him I guess, there's always a chance he could do a Yelloly.
