All that aside - theres a fair amount of sources suggesting it was V8SC and then yourself Pecky suggesting that is would be Teckno. |

Maybe the Giz could do a stint at Eastern Creek on Saturday and then run the 12hr on Sunday. Surely Mr VIP has the money to chopper him back and forth as required. Webb could do most of the V8 running.

The main drivers are supposedly required for the Sunday at SMP also. I'm sure that all avenues are being looked at though.

Never really understood the apparent need for a compulsory test day myself.... If anything it takes some of the shine away from Clipsal - already seen the cars and have a rough idea of who's where before the opening event.
Scrap the test! |

This Move should stop the development series pilots from looking for a B12 ride...

The way it's going, there aren't going to be a lot of cars entered in DVS next year, so drivers will mist likely find a ride elsewhere.

Further I would surmise that public risk cover for a race is a lot more expensive than for a test day,so they would need to recoup the expense somehow, probably by charging an entrance fee etc. Once upon a time it was not possible to run two CAMS sanctioned race meetings within the same state at the same time but guess that may have changed over the years or the governing body will roll over and have its testicles tickled. I checked the calendar to make sure it wasn't 1 April so guess we will just wait and see if there is any real substance to the story or if it is just another attempt to hijack the sport for ego and other stroking. |

Bathurst has 35 marshal posts trackside plus all the other positions that need to be filled and if they upgrade the "Test Days" to a full race meeting will there be enough marshals available to safely operate both circuits ??

Are you thinking of the "third tier" Kumho V8 Touring Car series? It has struggled for numbers this year and is wisely contracting from 6 rounds to 5.

I'm sure that's where a few DVS teams will end up. A few of them still have eligible cars in their stables.

Warburton's claim that the South Australian Motor Sport Board gets to pick the support program is a lie.The Board gets to nominate 1category and has used it in the past to put F3 and Sports/Racers on the bill.
Another stunt by these paranoid fools to detract from the 12 Hour and put some meaningful content into Fox's TV coverage. |

Sounds like some sort of negotiation ploy with the SAMSB. The best way to get your way is to make out you have another option.
Perhaps they're trying to get them to dump GT and replace with DVS? |

Having see the 2 appearances of the Asian Ferrari series in Australia(Albert Park 1997 and Eastern Creek this year)it is a fairly weak gentleman driver series. If the South Australian Motor Sports Board think it is a bigger attraction or provides better entertainment than the Dunlop Series they are seriously deranged.

On another date clash...
How are two FIA-sanctioned series able to run on the same weekend in the same country? |

Clipsal 500 waits. Its a much bigger event to run Bathurst 12 hour is perfectly entitled to announce its date. But if something else clashes then bad luck either change the date or get on with things and accept them (which to the 12 hours credit they have, wish we could say the same about its fanbois) |
