On what do you base that comment on? did the Giz know this, did he know that it was an effective buy-out of the team and not just a new brand?

Ryan Maddison had a verg good job @ MB HQ and a nice pad down on Beaconsfield Pararde.....what else was there for him to do in Melbourne ?

He set up the Erebus factory in Moorabbin which could not way fit the COTF team, lets face it the other guys with help from MPC can look after the GT cars. RM has bigger fish to fry hence the move to the GC makes sense...he needs to be where the action and decisions are getting made......he has had a very long term goal after leaving MB HQ and has Hannibal from the A Team says ' I love it when a plan comes together'

His immediate challenge is impressing corporate supporters of their innate desire to participate, to reduce/remove the burden on the patron. It would be difficult to imagine that funding a sport at this level without that outside backing is neither sustainable or wanted by anyone.

He's certainly got commercial cred and the idea of sponsoring a Benz on the grid with the Stones has got to hold some appeal over sponsoring "just" a Holden, Ford or Nissan.

I am not that much in to conspiracy theories
have to ask how 1 car can break down 2 time in one race weekend ?

van Gisbergen will be back in 2014 ?

He was smashed into a wall in Race 1, are you suggesting Tony D is in on the conspiracy

Well race 2 wasn't a breakdown as such, he hit the wall and broke the steering.

The kerbs and close proximity of the walls, plus this being the last event for these cars probably means the component life may have been longer than usual.

You wouldn't think the parts inventory would be too much of an issue, considering it should theoretically be sold with the car.

Seems he is 'only' getting about $1.5 million, which is surprising. I thought it would be a little bit more than that.

Maybe earning a little less, for less work, in V8 Supercars in 2014 is not such a bad thing.

With the news that Pirtek is leaving the Eels what sort of money will the throw at either RBRA or LDM to put Casey in a Pirtek sponsored car next year?

Does he still have a relationship with Jeld-Wen?

There's an interview on YouTube from the past week or so with MA on MOTORS TV saying he has this year and next in the US, he also talks about his feelings on returning to V8s, and how he believes 888 are the best team in Australian motorsport, ever.

The Holden Racing Team look set to offer James Courtney another $1 million dollar V8 deal.

Shane Van Gisbergen has already been speculated as a possible replacement for Courtney

After reading that i would say that JC said everything he needed to, to make an exit if he chooses. Doesn't sound overly excited or confident about staying on .....does he ???

If he cares about winning and not just the pay cheque, it would be wise to wait and see if the new car is another dog or a gun!

I don't know why he would want to go there, unless he wants a world tour. There isn't a lot of money or manufacturer support there in that championship.
