RIP

I never got to talk to David, but from what I heard from others is that he was a great guy to have a chat with.

The paddock wont be the same with out David or Richard.

Very saddened to hear about this. Always enjoyed seeing David Leslie and i remember him spending time with us on Sear at Snetterton when his car was helped our way. Thoughts and prayers are with families of all concerned.

He was, i had a really nice discussion with him about his lovely blue Royale RP24 Formula Ford, in the BRDC clubhouse, after the Walter Hayes Trophy a couple of years ago. Top bloke

david

RIP to David and the others onboard,
David was one of the first btcc i had the nerve or guts (as a 8/9 year old) to ask for his autograph!
I remmeber the underdog days in the ecurie ecosse cavalier(sorry if spelt wron) and then as people say his days throughout the btcc and in the successful nissan primera.
Racing on toca touring cars ps1 was always a delight battling round britain against him(he always seemed to come out first or better off though!)
Hope they can join Colin Mcrae (RIP) in the best place possible for them all, a true motorsport great lost again through a tragic accident

On one of the occasions I spoke to David we got chatting about kart racing. He said that his karting years were possibly the most fondly remembered of his entire career and particularly important to his dad. David said that he'd begun collecting some of the karts he used to race back in the day, mainly for his dad's sake. I told him that the retro kart scene was starting to gain traction and maybe he could race them again... like he was doing with the FF1600 and he started laughing.

We finished that day talking about this particular rare piece of footage which he remembered. I believe it was his first TV appearance. Its brief but poignant and I'm sure few ten-tenthers will have seen it before.

You'll need to go here and enter the words 'Terry Fullerton kart' into the search window and do the usual registration stuff to download it.

911 GT1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Just two weeks ago I sat in the Jaguar GT3 with David and made a media lap at Monza. Unbelievable he isn´t here anymore. The same is for Richard Lloyd. He tried everything to send a Jaguar to our German GT3 championship (which worked out for the final races at Hockenheim). Both have done a lot for motorsport and especially sportscar racing. Have a good journey whereever you are guys!

What a genuine man David was. Spent many a time chatting to him in the paddock at all sorts of meetings. I didn't know Richard at all, but knew who he was. My condolences to their families, and to the others lost in this tragic accident.

I don't know if anyone can find it, i can't, but there is some great footage of David in his Royale RP24 at the Walter Hayes Trophy, starting from the back in the wet and working his way up through the pack. really give you a feel for how good he was.

A sad loss to the sport. Richards passion and davids skills should of put jag back on the sportscar map. David was always willing to chat when we met in the pits or paddocks. A true gent and a great loss. The paddock will not be same without them.

shhh has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Another big loss to motorsport and yet another aircraft crash. David was a class pilot and great to watch during the BTCC classic years.

Here is classic Leslie making his feelings known after a coming together with Bincliffe. RIP David

It's taken me this long to find words to type...such dreadful news, David I had spoken to many times, as others have said he would always stop for a chat in the paddock, pitlane or at sign on, he always had time for everyone.

I'm sure I must have come across Richard, it sounds like his contribution to the sport has been huge.

Today's Metro has details of the third passenger Christopher Allarton, just a week into the motorsport job he had always wanted.

What a tragic waste of life and talent. Much sympathy to their families and to those of the crew. RIP.

I met David on several occasions and he was always a pleasure to talk to. He was also very interested in marshals, and occasionally marshalled with us. How many top line drivers do that?

I would like to pass on my sincere condolences to David's family and friends.
