That's another thing lost...not only FF specific but everywhere in this dreaded one make world we live in. I'm talking about the great designers and engineers.
I worked at Royale at the time when both Rory Byrne and Pat Symonds were there. Both were young up and coming designers...(but they've both made a right pigs ear of the new look F1 cars as part of the 'more overtaking' F1 thinktank group!) Anyway, the likes of these two and Adrian Reynard..where are the new generation going to come from?..especially if this new F2/FPA one make everything-in-house concept takes off and finishes off the teams.

FF History? I don't know what you are referring to. Apologies if I have quoted any 'historic' facts incorrectly, but I'm a racer not a trainspotter. Maybe using Brown as an example above whilst you may have meant Maliepaard. Either way, my points re budgets and 'cheap' deals still stand, and I don't feel I have put my foot it in it at any point.

I have full respect for years gone by in FF, but we have to face facts that things can't possibly be the same as they used to be. I for one am looking forward to the 2009 season, no matter how much better the 1979 season was.

Cliff Dempsey drivers?

I think Malvern may be about to or may have already signed with Cliff Dempsey (see the CDR website). Now that would be ironic if he was a thorn in the side of his former employers at Jamun Racing. Knowing Cliff, I'm sure he wouldn't be entering unless he knew he could be competitive.

I understand Newgarden, or his management, still haggling with Jamun and could even end up at JTR?

That would be a very welcome return if it comes off.

I thought Malvern was doing a year of National Kents with Cliff, before moving into duratecs in 2010.

Why have Renault picked up Marco Sorensen? Obviously he is a very good driver, but what about the guys who finished ahead of him in Formula Ford. For example, why not choose Wayne Boyd or Tim Blanchard?! I don't understand these driver development schemes sometimes.

Maybe they were more interested in his nationality than his driving? Maybe his manager knew the right people

You are probably right but doesn't that motorsport a farce? What is the point of anyone trying to make it in Motorsport beacuse if your face doesn't fit, you don't know the right people or you haven't got another £1 500 000 to go further, then the £100 000 that your family managed to scrape together to win a BFF chamionship by a large margin is money wasted! You are better off staying at club level and enjoying yourself.

moving on

Does it really matter who has been pick up by a team, the fact is some one from the c/ship has been and that is good for the series over all. Good luck to him, hope another team picks up another driver from FF.
Is there a list of drivers who have sign for the 09 c/ship so far.moving on

What nationality is Fabio? Did he test with Jamun early on?

Barrable should go well, but don't know much about the other two.

The Jamun cars are all for sale as is the older JTR car, not seen any other for sale (except for Palmers Ray which has been bought).

One of the national papers north of the border had a bit in it today saying that Graham Carrol had been offered the works Van Dieman drive and that he was looking for financial help so that he could take up the offer.

Interested to see Minister International are running a team again. Does this mean Graham & David might start building Duratec FF engines??
