Or... the performance is a result of not spending sufficent funds to stay competitive with the factory supported teams or their customers. And, just maybe, that is the result of the title sponsor "not meeting its commitment". |

Sprint is a small company of about 40 staff aust wide
and export around the world they wanted to get more exposure and were racking in the Money at the time with the Gov rebate to convert your car to gas they figured that with the advertising in a car related field it would pay off it seems that having the best gear on the market and getting there name out there Hasnt had fans supporting their product!! The New goverment reniged on the rebate that was to go through to 2011 and dropped it from 2000 to 1750 rebate and that 250$ has made the people stop buying Sprint has had to lay off staff, move to smaller wharehouses to continue to fund the agreed amount of sponsorship and the incedental things that the team asked for It is a shame to see both Sprint Gas and Tasman in this situation but it can be blamed on a few things Sprint thinking big and thinking a small Australian company could do it the govement winding back the promised rebate the spiraling costs of funding a v8 supercar team and the increases along the way New cars that wernt responding new staff that will fix the problems star drivers and the fans who dont support there product I hope they can work it out and the money starts to flow again because Tasman are doing a Giant killing Job and they are running on less than a fifth of the budget than the HRT 888 FPR and others that are in the area of 10mil a year bracket of spending |

You would have to say the $quillions Holden threw at this operation probably was not spent too wisely. The only cars they ever built that seemed to go allright were the ones Wally Storey did. Then when he moved on the show took on a headless chicken look. Also the 57 guys in charge and 2 workers never works for long. I feel for the workers who have put so much into this team.

Here is one from left field for you http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80014
Miles and Carlin are allegedly best mates. What chance Carlin uses some of Chilton’s squillions to buy Tasman (and all other rumours are just smoke screen)! |

I'm guessing Tasman will end up like Britek, broken up and sold off. |

Tasman closed today
The shed in Dandenong, well actually its 3 separate sheds in the same complex for preparation, for engine development & for car & parts constuction, will presumably all now become the responsibility of Greg Murphy Racing... If the 20 blokes & blokettes have pretty much buggered off to other teams, seems odd that the facility is of any use if there is nobody around to run the gear |

Sprint Gas Sold
Take note in the body of the text for 2 things... that Orbital purchased the assets out of the existing legal entity... and that the turnover for the Sprint Gas business was forecast to be ~$7m for the 2010/11 Financial Year So.. how did they take title sponsorship of a 2 car V8Supercar team at full commercial rates, when they turned over less than 888's sponsorship income? |

What makes you think any sponsorship to Tasman was ever at full commercial rates? I'm guessing less than $1m a year. |
