Can we have a bit of clarification Antro? If we do choose Paul Radisich, will we get points for whoever's taking his place at Clipsal?

Australian Motorsports is GO!
Australian Motorsports have unveiled their entry in the 2007 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship. The launch today South Australia's Adelaide International Raceway was overflowing with journalists keen to see the team's 2007 warpaint (or maybe it was the free BBQ). Team Manager/Owner/Overlord Chatters had this to say: "We're pleased to finally reveal our challenge for the 2007 V8SFC title. We have a whole host of new sponsors this year, all of which are Australian owned or proudly associated with Australia." The cars this year carry a stunning green, gold, red, blue and black paintscheme, with a title sponsor of Australian Made. "Yes, we're bloody proud to have Australian Made as our title sponsor- Hopefully we can show off to the world what us Aussies are capable of (seeing as our cricket team's doing a poor job at the moment!)." Said Chatters. Holden have also come on board as a major sponsor, and will be seen on the bonnet, front windscreen, and rear wing. "Yes, it's great to have Holden on board as a major sponsor. They were originally planned as a minor sponsor, but at the last moment another company pulled out and they stepped op to the plate and gave us their support," Chatters said. "We are proud to have them on board." The team's third major sponsor is... QANTAS. The Australian airline icon has joined the team and has recieved signage on the rear quarter panels and bootlid. "QANTAS. We couldn't have an Aussie car without our most famous airline," Chatters said. "We cannot believe how lucky we are to have them on board." When asked about the free flights the service would provide the team members he said, "Well that's an added bonus!" In 2007 Australian Motorsports has gained a vast number of minor sponsors. Three of those are Karting Australia, who will become the team's official kick-back-and-relax sponsor, Holden Special Vehicles who will provide all team members with complimentary HSV Clubsport R8s, and Motorsport News, who will keep the team up to date about all the national and international news of motorsport. "These are three great sponsors. Karting Australia because they encourage and help young karters find their feet and give them advice about starting racing and hold events for karters, Holden Special Vehicles because let's face it, they build awesome cars, and Motorsport News because we get the news first on how everyone else is cheating to beat us! Because come on, let's face it, that is what they'd have to do to beat us..." Laughed Chatters. "Another three minor sponsors we have are Decorug, who have promised to make our factory very schmick (provided we don't put oil stains on the carpet), Revolution Racegear, because without them our drivers would be running around naked (which would be a horrifying sight), and Chevron Publishing Group. Now although Motorsport News and Chevron are rival companies, we have reached a mutual agreement whereby we don't favour one or the other. That said, Motorsport News gave us more $$$!!" "We have also gained sponsorship from Repco, their second of a four year contract, Classic Carlectables, who have promised to make brilliant replicas of our fantastic cars, Pedders Suspension, and Victa, who have supplied us with a number of their Tornado Classic lawnmowers to keep our front lawns looking sharp." Then came the announcement of the drivers. Chatters annoucned the signing today of three new drivers, plus one who joined the team last year. "It is with enormous pleasure we announce the signings of Steven Richards, Shane Price and Dean Canto, who will join Will Davison in our championship campaign this year. All four of them are looking forward to the challenge of going for the 2007 V8SFC crown with Australian Motorsports." None of the drivers were available for comment today, Chatters explaining they were being "Convinced... Or brainwashed, whichever you prefer" to give 150% every race and win the V8SFC crown. Finally came the unveiling of the liveries. The four cars have two separate paintschemes, with Steven Richards and Dean Canto driving gold and green Commodores, and Price and Davison driving green and gold Commodores. "We decided to stick with the trusty VZs for the moment. However, we are not ruling out a change to the VE later in the year." Chatters said. So, to summarise: NAME: Australian Motorsports TITLE SPONSOR: Australian Made MAIN SPONSORS: Holden, QANTAS MINOR SPONSORS: Karting Australia, Holden Special Vehicles, Motorsport News, Decorug, Revolution Racegear, Chevron Publishing Group, Repco, Classic Carlectables, Pedders Suspension, Victa DRIVERS: #6 Steven Richards: $1,500,000 #7 Shane Price: $100,000 #18 Will Davison: $600,000 #34 Dean Canto: $300,000 MANUFACTURER: Holden Commodore VZ We wish the team the best of luck in the 2007 V8SFC! |

The Champions Return
Club 27 Racing
The reigning V8 Fantasy champions are pleased to announce the launch of their title defence. The team will be running 4 Ford BF Falcons, once again sponsored by Club 27. In a major shake-up the team will be lead by 5-time champion Mark Skaife, ably supported by James Courtney, Will Davison and Fabian Coulthard. Team owner woodbine said "It's great to be back. We're a bit late launching this year because it took some time to dig the various team members out of the gutter after their celebrations last year. We would have kept the same team as last year but some drivers got greedy and wanted too much money; fortunately Will had a realistic idea of his value so we kept him." Club 27 Racing #1 Mark Skaife #01 James Courtney #001 Will Davison #27 Fabian Coulthard |

Better late than never.
Red Bull Autotechnica is go! After a rough beginning to last years championship 433 Motorsport stole the ideas and drivers from the team at the top of the championship table. What followed was a swift rise through the fantasy V8 ranks, with the team securing its best finish in its two years in the championship. 2006 was also a logic building period, with the team principal finally realising that there was no way they could ever win the championship with only two drivers. It had to be four drivers, no question about that. But with the changes to the points structure this year, this years strategy has to be rethought again. Gone are the days of filling you team with mid-pack runner and gaining a swag of points each round. No, now you need front runners, consistent runners, and thats what Red Bull Autotechnica will bring this year. Towards the end of last year in the back rooms of the team HQ, a deal was being hatched, something bigger and better than has been seen in this part of the world before. Impressed by the teams increasing success in the second half of 2006 Red Bull has come on board as the team primary backer. With it, Red Bull has brought many of its Formula 1 partners including, Metro, UGS, Mac Tools, Leica, Platform, Rauch and MSC Software. Many of these partners are new to the world of V8 Superscars and are pleased to begin their association with Red Bull Autotechnica. The one year, ten-figure sponsorship deal is one of, if not, the largest of its kind in the current Australian motorsport landscape. And with the enforced driver salary cap limiting our spending on driving talent, it leaves us with almost 90% of our budget to build an empire. An empire that will rule the world. It allows us virtual free reign to test whereever and whenever we want, why? because we can afford what it costs to make sure that we can't be caught. In short money buys power. The team has been working feverishly to finish preparing the teams new VE Commodores. With the livery only being completed last night, it was definitely down to the wire as to whether the team would make it to the grid for Adelaide. We've already missed the first test sessions of the year, but we won't let it phase us, it just means that we have one more up our sleeve for later in the year. In the off season we have continued to build up our technical alliance with some of the biggest players in the sport. And despite the persistent rumours there is no ongoing rift amongst the owners, nor is there any speculation as to who does, or doesn't own the team. We know who's boss, and frankly its no-one else's business. So we've got a new name, new sponsors, new cars, but what about the drivers? Well, you guessed it, they are new too. The Red Bull Amigos for 2007 are Todd Kelly, James Courtney and Shane Price. Kelly joins RBA after a very strong finish to the 2006. Following on from strong podiums at both Sandown and Bathurst Kelly's form continued to the end of the series. If the championship had started at Sandown, Kelly would have been a runaway winner. Here at Red Bull we are hoping that he brings this form with him for all of the 2007 season. Courtney was last years Rookie of the Year, and with that comes big expectations. After finishing 2006 just 10 points out of the Top 10, Courtney will also be looking to build on his strong finish to the 2006 series. Back in the Holden camp, where he began with endurance drives for HRT, Courtney is looking to make 2007 a breakthrough year. Price is a newcomer to the main game ranks. After finishing an impressive 2nd in his debut year in the Development series, and taking his first steps into the big boys with drives in four rounds in the second half of last year, Price will be looking to make an impact early in the year. And with the change in points structure he will be looking to keep himself inside the top 15. And with that, all that is left to do is unveil our stunning new VE's. Team Name: Red Bull Autotechnica Drivers: #13 Shane Price ($100,000) #14 James Courtney ($900,000) #15 Todd Kelly ($1,500,000) Sponsors: Red Bull and friends Cars: Holden VE Commodores |

Bahodietek 2007 season launch

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's the same livery as last year. But it's about the quality of the racing, not the pretty pictures!" said team boss Bahodie today. 4 Billabong Bahodietek beasts will line up on the grid at Adelaide; #72 James Courtney #73 Russell Ingall #74 Paul Morris #75 Shane Price |

DBE Racing completes 2007 Evolution.
In the first time in its V8 Supercar history, Ford Australia will have its own driver development team. Refining the strategy first instigated by the Holden Young Lions, the Ford Falconets however will be the first team in the 2007 Ten-Tenths Fantasy Series to sign the team’s two main drivers to permanent positions within the team. Driving the #0 BA Falcon used last year by Russell Ingall, Will Davison has been signed to spearhead the team’s championship assault. The former Minardi F1 test driver joins the team in the car that proved a consistent operator in the 2006 championship, and was the best performing machine out of the DBE stable. The trend to sign ex-F1 testers continues with James Courtney joining the Ford Falconets in the brand new #00 BA Falcon. A completely redesigned chassis, Courtney will share equal status with Davison in the 2007 championship as the pair aim to take it to the big names in the championship. The third car, the former #00 BA used last year by John Bowe, will be piloted first by Shane Price. Price, a former Fujitsu Series contender and karting star, will operate on a performance-based contract as he tries to find his feet in his first full year of V8 Supercar racing. On the sponsorship front, Red Bull will continue to be a major sponsor of the team, however will sponsor just one car in 2007. The #0 Red Bull Falcon sports a striking blue, black and white livery, representative of not only Ford, but Red Bull’s corporate colour as well. Shell Australia has increased its sponsorship for the team in 2007. Last year’s official lubricant supplier to DBE Racing, Shell will sponsor James Courtney’s all new #00 BA Falcon through its V-Power high-octane fuel brand. Further to this, Shell will sponsor the car in its entirety. A brand new sponsor will also join the team for 2007, with Pirtek joining the Ford Falconets as major backer of the #000 machine. Pirtek has agreed to a one-year deal as major sponsor of DBE Performance. The Ford Falconets will hit the track for the first time this season at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide. Watch out for the team’s three similarly designed BA Falcons on track! Team Name: Ford Falconets Drivers: #O Will Davison #OO James Courtney #OOO Shane Price Sponsors: Ford, Red Bull, Shell V-Power, Pirtek, Michelin, Wendy's, CAT, AGL. Car: Ford BA Falcon |
