mmm_five should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I've not done a 24hr before, but my 'boss' is running in a Civic Type-R and I thought it would be fun to see if he really can drive as well as he says (he used to do BMW Kumho and TVR racing).

I'm doing Tour Britannia at Loton Park on the 6th, so I'd have to go straight from there to Silverstone, so what would I need to bring on top of 'normal' circuit marshalling gear?

one 'Night Sun' from my brother-in-law at Liverpool airport

and the air-horn from my boss's motor launch then!

I'm doing the same trip on the Thursday, except I've not done Loton Park before!

A large flask for the night shift is an essential for the 24h, as well as a good torch. Otherwise, just normal circuit gear and a sense of humour.

I'd like to hear what Mr Tucker has to say but a round trip of 230 miles for a couple of hours of 'Noggin and Natter' is a tad far
...and it's further still for Stiggy
Now, if it had been on the weekend...

Indeed it is.

However on that particular day, I shall be in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. On a river. In a Kayack. flat out.

Hence my concern about the tickets earlier.

Don't worry I am sure Mr Tucker will be doing his own impromptu noggin and natter round the paddock bar at different times during the weekend.

According to the Autosport, the entries for this are "flooding in" (hope that's not an allusion to possible weather conditions). I understand there are something like 80 entries, including the Top Gear team (Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig) - so presumably TV coverage guaranteed.

If this is beginning to whet your appetite then don't forget that to do this event you don't have to "do the whole thing". Even if you can only do a day or part of a day (night) you will be most welcome because your presence allows someone else some time off.

I've done the previous 2 events and I can honestly say that I have thoroughly enjoyed both and have never been so well looked after anywhere else. Its a real shame that people think "Britcar" and small grids so aren't attracted to this when it is a completely different kettle of fish.

BTW - I have no affiliation to EERC, Britcar or BRSCC.

currently they have got problems with their engine so they more than likely wont make this years 24hr but if they dont make this year they will come back next with a working engine.

Right, Moscow's off and so am I, so I can commit to 3 days of this. I've just sent Pam an email, so might or might not get my tickets in time for when I leave on Thursday morning (got another event to attend on Thursday).

I'm know I can camp on Thur/Fri/Sat night, but can I also camp on Sunday night as I might be a little tired to drive home and would probably want a coulple of drinks anyway.

See you all there. Tony.

Current entry stands around 60 cars at the moment. This is the offical number entered and not a random guess. May be a few last miniute entries as well but I would not expect much change on the number.

Don't forget we still could do with all disciplines of marshals for this event...
It makes it easier on everyone if there are more marshals to rota...SO if you know anyone not doing anything get them to contact us .... If you can only do a short time then that is no problem... but please please please try to attend what promises to be the best one yet... Contacts as normal (see previous posts) or PM me and I will pass on your Name Address and Duty etc

The entires are in now and it is looking good for numbers. 60 cars in the 24 hr. 84 Dutch split in to 2 groups, 41 Porsches, 34 Duratec S2000, 36 Pinto S2000, 31 Britsports and 9 Prod S1. Note the Prod S1 are racing with the Britsports. It looks like strong girds all weekend so twist some arms and drag so more bods along if you can.

I am currently sitting at home with a raw, red nose and surrounded by boxes of (used) tissues feeling like death warmed up. But the thought of next weekend is helping me to keep going - but not enough to get the ironing board out!

Crumpled regards.........
