Generally, though, racing seems to be a lot less expensive in Europe than in the US. |

I thought the reason the Nordschleife is not FIA approved because there are not enough marshals' posts and they are spread too far apart, making emergency response times an issue.

There might be a safety concern however with the lack of run off area - almost everywhere. But then again, quite a few GT3 cars (and even GT2 cars in previous years) race in the 24H. |

Just saw a long recap of the Nurburgring race. What a fantastic race, on a crackin' track with a great mix of topshelf GT cars.
Sad for McLaren though that they're still far away from the front... |

Yeah I dont buy the safety excuse at all. If VLN can do it and do it succesfully as safety goes then BES should be able to do it. Im guessing the cost is the real issue here.

The real problems are production costs (takes a ton of cameras and at least one helicopter) to cover a race at the Nordschleife) and getting a full field of cars on the track. Even a 50 or 60 car field would come up woefully short compared to the 150-200 cars VLN puts on the track. And the GT3s wouldn't even spread that much, so you'd have lots and lots of downtime for the spectators around the track.

Easy, guess the LFA Nordchleife package 7:14 = 434 sec time (Slower than a GT3 probably) and divide it by 60 cars grid. A car every 7,3 seconds.

But of course, cars aren't spread out evenly from the start. I'd take quite a while until the field begins to fill the track. (And then, who cares about the backmarkers anyway? The real issue is that you'll only see the leaders 40 or so times... |

Is it an one-tyre brand series or is it open to any brand?

Michelin is a partner, but there is manufacturer competition:

Seems Mclaren doesn't trust much BES Mclaren teams, is just Hexis arriving and Parente comes with the pack. Good pro trio. And may be the ones ruling GTE in a pair of years according Mclaren confide in Hexis. |

What'd I say? Hexis will most definitely be one of McLaren's 'factory' GTE teams...

Hexis make a good fit though, they're very professional with a strong driver lineup and have been running the GT3 car this year if that counts for anything. Hoping they would have more success with the GTE then the GT3. |

BES calendar is perfect.. I think this is the real 2013 fia gt championship.. Maybe with 1-2 more races and more pro entries it would be perfect.. Why they don't open it to GTE?

Because GT3 has enough cars to fill the grid without opening it up to a class which may not get many competitors. There are much more GT3 cars out there then GTE cars at the moment and the variety is much more varied then Ferrari and Porsche with the odd Aston.

Also, Where have the aston martin Vantage V12 GT3 have gone?? They could represent Aston Martin. The GT3 class can cover all GTE brands by now, the only thing that matters is where AM,Nissan and Corvette have gone, that aren't in BES.

http://www.endurance-info.com/version2/news-focus-13839.html Frank Stippler-Oliver Jarvis-Filipe Albuquerque, seems they want other teams championship, some teams race at other league. |
