... and the white car was built by a less-than-famous Ten-Tenther
And no, it's not 1977, and they're not F3s, and sorry, the blue car doesn't have a Dutch name. |

Ive just found the pot i won for 3rd place at the race.It was a great race for me as me and my mate Carlo who is now my brother in law but that's another story were in awe with Alan Cirrus as it was such a wonderful car and our Sparton was 10 years old then and a bit tyred and tatty. We spent the winter changing the body work and made an illegal rear wing"by mistake bye the way". Fitted twin webers only had a down draft the year before. Any way had a great race and me and Alan were side by side going round the old Woodcote and i just pipped him to P3 on the line. I then did another lap as i missed the chequered flag and passed the 1st and 2nd place cars at Woodcote again. I then thought i had won the race..Alan went on to Finnish 2nd in the championship and a works F3 drive on offer for 1980."He can tell you that story".I ran out of money half way through the year because i kept crashing!!!!. I then sold my car bought Alan's Cirrus and very nearly won at Combe in the first race only to run out of petrol on the last lap.. Very happy days.

Just after then, actually - when I worked for Fireater Systems. It was a nice car, with a monocoque chassis. All the suspension was nickel plated, and we even made a spare set, together with noseframes - you never knew quite what would happen, racing wheel to wheel with Rowley!

Don't know, but the origins of the expression 'aerodynamics of a brick' are now becoming clearer.
Actually, is it the Heath Robinson Special? |

Monza. Ferrari prototype for the shark nose. (disguised as a 2 seater).
Sponsored by Lettraset. Note the poor aerodynamics. The driver's whirly propeller thingy has been blown off his tin helmet .... (More seriously - cracking photo. I'm looking forward to the full story.) |

HUH!!!!!!!wher did you find this?????????, This is Willem Verboon the dad of my spannermate Roberto ( Roberto and me together we do prepare , restore, race etc cars now for over 17 years, MGB, Healey,TVR, van Diemen , Crossle , Bentley etc)
Willem Verboon is here seen in his first singleseater at Zandvoort 1964 called the Miereneter - mice-eater (correct?) in formule libre, it was ugly...........but fast enough!!!! He did make a formula Ford then called the Wiver a handsome looking car! (I will post a picture but you can see it at http://www.racehistorie.nl) . He raced Lotus 61 (made longer himself as his body is is 2 meters long) and later was a strong promoter of Crossle in the Netherlands (ff1600 and ff2000). He stopped racing in the early 80ties and dedicated his time to building a good business in car radiators -Autodimex- . He retired about 15 years ago and now he and mainly Roberto dedicate their time to restoring e.a. Rolls Royces to unmatched standards |

Apologies Alan. Found the book and the car. Will wait and see if anyone else knows.Talking of books i lent my Alf Frances story to a friend over 10 years ago. I had a look at the classic and a copy was for sale for £150.00. I rally wanted the book back for sentimental reasons and do you know what. "Its turned up"

As we come to the end of the 11th day in the 11th month I'm sure like me you have had thoughts on all those that gave their lives towards fighting for us today so that we can all enjoy the things we take for granted. My Dad who is now 87 never talked about the war i guess he was able to block all the horrific memories out of his mind. He did tell me this Saturday how they had driven through Belgium we were talking about Spa "he drove tanks and is stone deaf for it, as the gunner would often forget to tell him he was going to open fire".One night they were offered shelter in a house and he told me how he woke up in the morning to find this little girl staring at him as he was in her bed.I think that's the first time he has ever talked about the war. Night all.
