I hope Scud does well, but any luck he may have seems to disappear somewhere between Sydney and Blue Mountains. Deserves a result though.

And all the best for David Russell - sometime a change in team can result in a change in fortune.

Entry list itself.

Steve Owen and Luke Youlden join Scud in his Lambo. No Dave Russell?
He rang me in December and said he'd secured a factory drive and asked me if it was ok. I said yes since he's trying to secure future drives with teams which is fair enough. I can't say which team but it'll be out soon enough. He is still locked in for Spa. A few in my team are a tad disappointed with his decision. So I asked a couple of people and Luke's name came up. He's driving next Monday at QR with Steve to get use to the car and make sure the seat is ok, comms are ok etc. I won't have time to make it so the first time we meet will be at Bathurst. I'm more than happy to have him along and am sure he'll do a great job along with Steve.

I'm sure Luke will do well. But it'll feel odd not having Russell with you in the Lambo, you guys have been together for a while.

Bentleys a good choice and quite a surprise as I thought there'd be no room for an Aussie driver but good luck to him.

Can't wait to see the JBS Reiter Rexx in action in three weeks time.

Congrats to Dave on getting the factory Bentley gig, and best of luck once again scudd.

So, only Nissan, Phoenix and Erebus to announce line ups now, along with third drivers for the GWR SLS and the MPC/Hallmarc Audi.

Wonder if Caruso is still in the running for a seat in the GTR?

A few posts discussing ideal numbers around Bathurst for the 12 hour - for comparison (no judgement) the Dubai 24 Hour currently happening (live and free) has 100 entries over a 5.39km distance

Dubai helps itself by being part of the Creventic series instead of being a one off race each year (the SRO Intercontinental Cup doesnt count as the same team doesnt contest every race). Also its closer to Europe so less expense to travel and cheaper to enter as theres no need for refuelling equipment as that is provided by the organisers etc amongst other things. I believe that the Dubai organisers help subsidise all the competitors as far as freight goes-well they used to anyway. Dubai and the Middle East are bigger markets so manufacturers are more open to sending works teams down there also, that does happen at Bathurst but on a smaller scale.

With that all said Bathurst certainly has its charms . I wouldnt want to see 100 cars at the Mount, it sounds good in theory but in practice it would be catastrophic, track density would be a big issue especially up the top. Around 60 cars is probably the maximum that Bathurst could safety contain. Dubai is a lot different in that it is wide and relatively open with lots of run off so 100 cars is not a big problem.

And unlike Bathurst it has some run off room, however I believe that there has been a lot of Code 60's called already including one that went for over an hour. So I guess there's one for the punters who believe that the reduced number of entries for the 12hr is a good thing.

Gotta feel sorry for Pro-Speed who are going to all the effort of bringing 2 cars out here and then there the only ones in their class.

Yeah I am very surprised more GT4 entries havent been recieved.

The Aston of Chris Porritt has been here twice now (2013 and 2015), almost has a year on and then a year off. Hope to see him and more GT4's in 2016

Pity WRT aern't coming to Bathurst.

Win Sepang and Dubai and ???

Could have been a great story about a possible hat-trick.

Maybe still for Laurens Vanthoor/Stuart Leonard???

Still Audi start red hot favourites to win the Bathurst 12 hour.

Which one???

Yes it was the new Audi.

The SLS that came 2nd was a show car as of Thursday and only came in after a severe practice incident where the car was engulfed in flames.

Remarkable result whilst the new Mercs proved very fragile and unreliable

That wasn't my point as when you are a team who enters GT4 cars for a GT4 class, that's what you would be expecting to occur and not a last minute "you'll have to go in this class now" situation. The organisers have some decisions to make regarding the lower classes next year.

The new gen Audi won both Sepang and Dubai.

Also on the GT4 front, I agree that if you enter a class you should be able to run in that class.

The British APO Sport Porsche that is coming out for Bathurst has been bouncing between the Porsche Cup class and the GT4 class in the various Bathurst entry lists.

The car won the SP3 (GT4-based) class at the Barcelona 24 Hour race last year, is named as a 911 GT4 in various reports but has been put in the 911 class for Bathurst.

Maybe different regulations for different series and races.
