Hasn't Stepney denied all allegations made about him by Ferrari, McLaren and by Coughlan's sworn affidavit ? At least he or his legal team are consistent

Yes no sanction, but its not the same as the suspended sentence they are under, so I repeat. The were punished but its the "sword of Damocles".

They are being scrutinsed for any evidence to show they used the data. Not a nice position to be in.

Frankly, everyone.

Of course, because there is no audit carried out at the end of everyday by a team from the FIA I suspect that will be classified as by no-one.

In reality any slight suspicion will be investigated. And any slight suspicion will be made aware to the FIA I am sure. Maybe a few false suspicions too, although they will probably go straight to the press, judging by how the game is played at the moment.

You know how it works, just consider how the flexible wings (etc...) continually came up again and again despite clarifications. Not the same thing, but just an example of how suspicions are made known, repeatedly.

But still NO punishment. Undoubtedly. It may not be a nice position to be in but it certainly isn't a punishment. A punishment to be told that they will be watched carefully to make sure that the crime they have been found guilty of (having the data) is not made more serious (by using the data)? I don't think so!

I understood that having the data carried no punishment, using the data carried a severe punishment. The WMSC said that if at some later point in time evidence emerged that they had used the data that they were found to have had... the punishment would be administered. In other words, its not about watching them closely in case they commit another offence... its about reacting to new evidence about the existing offence. So, not a suspended sentence, rather a case of double jeapordy.

There are plenty of occasions where someone has been found guilty of breaking the law, by association or not, but is not punished further due to mitigating circumstances. The WMSC found no proof, inspite of a "118 page written submission" sent by Ferrari to it's members 6 days before the hearing that warrented any punishment.

If you really need a punishment will a $1 million fine satisfy you ? $10 million ? $100 million ? $1 ? 1 race ban ? 2 race ban ? season long ban ?

Funny.. for all the role-reversal and hypothetical questions asked earlier in the thread, Ron decides to help us out by doing the same and testing the response!

Weird.. i thought Mr Macaluso had already suggested earlier to leave it to the FIA CoA, only for Ron to insist issuing a response and then "suggest" again to leave it to the process.

Ron complains that Ferrari is undermining the council's decision, but isn't he doing the same by exerting pressure on the CoA to uphold the council's decision in his favour by constantly stating his expectations?

At least everyone is doing so on the record now instead of leaking which will make Max's job of proving " bringing the sport into disrepute" charges easier when/if this blows over.

If you're referring to 'Flav' then I don't think you'll find him siding with either Ferrari or McLaren.In fact if Flav had his way he'd get'em both kicked out and then it's just them and BMW.
