Good point brought up in MWM. Olivier Pla is in the ESM Nissan in DPI. So what about Ford? Maybe they will just run 2 cars at Daytona in 2018.
Or maybe Pla will be out at Ford after Bahrain? I don't think he has been that great in the Ford if you ask me. |

I'm more surprised to see Lapierre in a ligier, that basically is the oreca point man. Or maybe was.
Has he been dropped by them too? surely chances to see him again in a toyota are really low, considering that they need to free a seat for alonso at le mans. |

2 car Ford effort would not be surprising. Ford won D24 last year.

Lexus and 3GT continuing for 2018. Will be interesting to see who moves over to drive and where the money comes from for the season. Doesn't seem like people will line up to drive for PG.

How does the overall spectating experience at Daytona compare with other international endurance races? I'm in the area on holiday but due to go home the week before the race. With the bumper entry etc would it be worth staying on?

With the grandstands you get high views of the whole track. Plus you get the space where you can sit anywhere you want. Thankfully Daytona speedway was built to hold the 200,000 fans for the 500 so for the 24 it is something to take advantage of. Plus with the new renovations you get to sit very high now and they have great facilities too. It has gotten to the point that I like being in the infield for everything prior to the green flag of the 24, but for the race itself. The grandstands right at turn 1 and the exit to the oval is the place to be for as much of the race as possible. The lighting is good so you can watch the race at night with no problem as well.

Yeah. they've never really committed to US racing and sounds like they were always maybe, possibly, we're thinking about Daytona than a firm YES, we'll be there. Course they liked building a car so LMP2 was a stop-gap measure I felt, but it doesn't sound like LMP1 would be more than an advanced LMP2 car. The actual builder is homologating the car but guess win LM and take home the competition's watches has always been their goal and LMP1 gets them those fancier watches.

Thats definitely disappointing news, hopefully they will indeed be back at Sebring as the article suggests, as well as the 2019 Rolex!

This is a disappointment. They will be missed. Thankfully there will still be a stellar grid. I really hope they do enter LMP1 again.

If they do decide to return to P1 a 2019 Daytona entry doesn't seem logical either but they would be back at Sebring (for the WEC race). |

From the grandstands you can go up high and see the entire track, or head down to the front row and be just several feet away from the cars as they fly past at close to 200mph. |

The bulletin about the roar time trials to set pit and garage assignments is interesting and unique. Also from it I gather that dpi and gtlm are still red numbers. While GTD stays green. I don’t agree with that but I like that gtlm pits with dpi from this point on.

Jackie Chan DC Racing's rumoured 2 cars now have rumoured driver line-ups:
Thomas Laurent - Ho-Pin Tung - David Cheng Lance Stroll - Felix Rosenqvist - Robin Frijns - Daniel Juncadella http://www.racer.com/imsa/item/14588...rolex-24-entry http://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/st...p-for-daytona/ A stacked race lineup gets even more stacked. |

Unusual line-up that one, wouldn't have called that. Tung and Cheng were probably a given, and Laurent is not unexpected. But the second car is a hell of an entry.

How dare UA release a press release with statements! They should have phoned the journalists to get personal quotes directly from 'Nando to them! He'll never get anywhere in sportscar racing like that!
In a less sarcastic note, I can't wait to see his performance at Daytona! |

Yes, Job was a formidable team to be dealt with, but sad is not what I get from it. More of a privilege in having the opportunity to see Alex and Holly orchestrate many of the feats that they achieved during their presence in 'pro' racing! Stellar 'Job', Alex and Holly! (yes pun intended).
