I think either Speed or RLM mentioned awhile back that Rebellion has been doing 13 laps routinely with the occasional 14 lap stint. Strakka can do 14 routinely maybe 15.

I think we all agree that a five-minute pitstop to fix it is in order....

But they would much rather be on the factory pace than be able to do 15 lap stints.

I think Audi #2 is at the tail end of the same Safety Car as the #7 and #8.

Edit: He may be a whole safety car behind the #7 and #8.

Was that also what the RLM guys meant by one headlight out at the pit stop? Can't remember what Audi it was but someone in the booth said it looked like Audi had only one light when stopped in the box but looked like both came on when they left the box.

Wow, looks like the ACO might be investing in new armco or possibly a new wall system. That Ferrari bent and separated a couple rows of armco at that site and looked almost like a bent post also.

Armco repairs, this will make a pit stop under yellow likely for the Toyotas...which of course will mix up everything again

the armco is pretty mangled there, this is going to be another long caution....

Noticed the same.. Under pitstop only right one working, out of the box both are working fine.

That did happen with Dempsey's 911 headlamps.

On another note: What the hell is going on with the armco this year. I cannot remember so many SC sessions for armco replacement.

Maybe not for Lapierre.

Davidson pitted on lap 173, so normally he would pit on lap 184-185. However, Lapierre on lap 176, so his scheduled stop would be on lap 187-188.

Do they restack and use the armco temporary wall sections each year? Might need to inspect some of the supply a little closer or replace it all. And I think we could see some sections of SAFER or similar designed barrier be installed in the future. And yes I know it needs a stronger support than armco posts but that seems like a situation easily overcome with some engineering.

I think if you would have asked Toyota before the race that they would be 2nd and 3rd, half a lap down to the leading Audi 12.5 hrs in they'd have taken it without thinking about it. Don't forget the Toyotas went 1.75 hours before a first pit stop I think. They can extend their mileage more than Audi under the pace car.

Davidson would have two normal laps left. Lapierre about 4. I think theyll pit at the end of the SC or maybe the restart.

Was thinking the same, it's like it's made out paper this year.

If I just heard the Swedish commentators correctly they had gotten word it'll be another 30-40 minutes of repairs? I'm hoping I'm half-deaf and heard wrong or that they have the wrong info...

Edit - Ok so I'm not half-deaf after all, bleh.

Edit 2 - Heh, the Autosport live commentators are getting annoyed as well; "12h06m Another bloody safety car, the #54 AF car has had an off."

Forget my theory. The repairs supposedly will take 40 minutes. That means around 6 more laps.

I'm sure they have. Too cost prohibitive for that many miles of new armco every year. RLM was just saying that this tough, is a new style, with more angular bends (ribs?) than the old style that had curves. Supposedly more impact absorption.

For those familiar to the USCR thread, it's funny listening to the SPEED announcers talking about how "it's so hard to make up time under the pace car because they don't wave people around!"
