Fabulous little thing, Hunter 1300. More than can be said for that lot obscuring the lovely E type. Don't they know that they should stand behind such a thing of beauty. I blame Mr Rowley, of course!

Nice one Hunter, looks a great little car.
I fitted the engine in my 1970 Camaro on Sunday, bit of a military operation as for the first time I installed the engine and box as a unit and a good tip my 64 Mustang owning mate gave me was to jack the back of the car high in the air and that baby slotted in beautifully and cleared the big wing sump to crossmember no problem, now why have I never done that before?? Just need to wire, plumb and fill up and ready for a trial fire up, fingers crossed as I want to take her to Brands SpeedFest June 9th which is looking increasingly like full grids. Thanks Jim for the help slotting her in its usually me on me own it was nice to have a hand. And yes guys it has alloy heads, no historic series except Bernies HVRA and CSCC Swinging Sixties want me in with the car as it has disc brakes or no MoT or some other rubbish that doesnt 'comply' or they want me to have the car weighing some 200kgs heavier than it left the factory so sod it I have fitted a pair of patriots that are a fraction of the price and apparently work well and save 50lbs off the front end. I will be running without inner steel splash guards and with a fiberglass bonnet and estimate a saving of 150lbs off the front end. Last edited by Al Weyman; 20 May 2013 at 10:25. You will notice in an attempt to stop infernal oil leaks from the Rocker cover breathers I have modified them to take a couple of big Aeroquip fittings and run them to a catch tank with large bore Aeroquip, the standard rubber grommets always leak. The Patriot heads also have the later raised rocker cover rails which will help enormously to seal the covers.

Fun being one word to describe her. The car was build in 1973 for a Spanish driver, the Spanish media described her as
'el pequeño guerrero' The little warrior This was due to the pairing always seeming to be able to take the fight to the big boys upsetting some of the house hold names an teams in this seamingly under powered car! Reagularly beating the Alfas an escort mk1s |

I did guess at an e type given the mandatory 'power' bulge on the bonnet. |

Been browsing ebay, a very dangerous thing to do and come across this - be an eye opener as a converted race car transporter. Yeah, I know completely im practical but what a beast!

Be good to see the NSU out again, Hunter - remember seeing it at Oulton last year and it looked very bonny. A lad near me runs an NSU (TT IIRC) and I would sometimes pass him going in the opposite direction as I went toi my unit in my Imp. We'd waved at each oither and eventually met up where we confirmed that we each knew (more or less!) what the other's car was...whereas most people thought they were the same

We did start behind Colin's E Type but the nice chap seconded into taking photo said he could not see us all. That truck reminds me of my mate back in the 70's spent all winter modifying an old fire engine to take his racing car. Set of to the first race meeting and took him all day as the diff ratio was very short.. Yet alone stopping and putting out fires along the way.
BTW good to have your sence of humor back John..I trust you will be on hand for Guards 3 hour at Snett. |

The motley crew totally conceals the fact there are two shiny things on the roof. Are congratulations in order or did the MemSahibs pop down to Trophies'R'Us to make it look good?
