yeah, but are two separate team or not? something like SRT + DKR under the same mad-croc racing banner.

Two teams bought a P2 chassis each with plan to have them on track January 2014.
And Pescarolo is not one of those team. |

We are going to have to re-name this thread to the endless S103 topic.
I too would be surprised if Pescarolo demoted his team to P2. I would also be surprised if they did not use the Oak/Morgan/Pescarolo chassis if they did compete this year. dh |

Call the P1 a Pescarolo and the P2 a Morgan . |

Per John Dagy one of the teams is a WEC GTE-AM team now that is moving up to P2 next year.

2014 lmp1 must to be coupè or am I wrong?
Some time ago nicolet said that the team was working on a lmp1 oak coupè with a never specified honda support. Since then no other news. In my opinion this car never existed, or very likely just on papers or 3d model. Very likely oak racing will keep on running in lmp2 with self-made morgan lmp2. |

AF corse runs 8star team in wec. AF corse is already involved with pecom racing in lmp2, maybe amato & co. will buy a second oreca 03 chassis to run the american team.

Krohn and 8Star are also possibilities but there is something I don't quiet understand. Both of these teams are American, so why not run the P2 in USCR for overall wins instead of WEC. Maybe it is because of the auto-invite to Le Mans. |

Maybe no sensible WEC team is willing to commit to USCR when USCR isn't willing to commit to rules.

8star is an american team involved in grand-am. Next year, lmp2 will be accepted in USCR. Same car that can be used both in WEC and USCR.

Thing is, No one knows how much it will cost to convert DPs (of which 8-star owns two--not reason to go to DP there) and no one knows if P2 really will stay unaltered other than the tires and whatever suspension adjustment need to be made to suit the tires.
So no, the Same P2 will not be running both series, though Probably (not certainly) the cars will be similar. But since 8Star already owns two DPs, more likely they will upgrade those than buy a new chassis. Since USCR still can't decide on the rules, hard for a team to decide to spend a bunch of money on the series. Maybe the rules will favor one or the other, but no one knows. |

maybe team involved know something more than us, so potolicchio thinks that lmp2 will be more competitive than dp. Anyway I think that the same chassis could be used for both series, just need different suspensions system race by race. Not easy to do, but possible.

Sorry for off topic,
According to Minoru Hayashi's HP, Dome might participate in the bid of FIA-F4. He fears that Japanese constructor declines because of FIA-F4. http://hayashiminoru.com/ |

Posted this also in the WEC thread, but it pertains to DOME- http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111623. Strakka is partnering DOME to build their cars for customers in the future. Next year theyll run the S103 lmp2 powered by Nissan. http://www.strakkaracing.com/wp/?p=1370
Still has the "handlebars" on the roof. Last edited by TF110; 26 Nov 2013 at 09:52. Reason: added cool picture |

And more interesting. Dome has always wanted to be in P1, but is forced to P2 this year.
Could the use of Nissan engine, be more than just a costumer relationship? |

Those headlights. Makes it looks like someone just said something very cutting. The poor thing looks like it's about to burst into tears...

Minoru Hayashi must have designed the towing hook in the nose.
It expresses the feature of his design well. |

Dome has been looking for a partner on their LMP projects the past few years, and it sounds like they have found a partner with Dome. Does Nissan have any involvement, I dont know. But I am glad to see a 2 car effort to add some (chassis) variety into P2.
