That's brilliant!

I love Sniff Petrol, and I'm very impressed that Richard Porter has been following the BTCC (or this thread.. so if you are Mr. Porter, hi!).

On the ITV4 coverage Paul O'Neill seemed very positive about being back on the grid soon - he said he hoped to make an announcement this week (or next - can't remember ). Good news if he does sort something out.

Where is Tim Harvey out of interest? I didn't notice them explain his absense, but I didn't watch the whole show...

He was racing in the British GT series at Rockingham, co driving a Porsche 997 GT3 with Jon Minshaw. A bloody good race it was too, seeing the top 10 within a maximum of 30 seconds of each other for most of it.

He's missing Croft to do Brands Hatch as well. Really enjoying the GTs this year.

Owy to take over for Tony Hughes at Croft - http://www.touringcartimes.com/article.php?id=7758

Going to be tricky taking on a completely new package, but hopefully he'll go well.

Oh, good news

BTW, no news on Goeff Steel's BMWs or the NGTC-powered Cruze you could read about earlier this year?

Not sure about the Geoff Steel cars, as I understand it Tech-Speed have the Cruzes more or less ready to roll, just need a budget to run them...

Good to see O Neil get a decent ride, even if its only for one weekend, i'm sure he will be knocking on the top 10.

Not heard a word on the Steel BMWs, apparently motoring news said that a single Techspeed Cruze may appear later in the season, treat that one with handfuls of salt though.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Techspeed are intending to run John George in the turbo Cruze for the second half of the season. Nothing confirmed yet though.

Good news on Paul O'Neill and hats off to Tony Hughes and sponsers if they have made this happen although 2 races would be more idea giving Paul Croft to get used to the Toyota.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet. I'm listening to the Midweek Motorsport podcast, and the topic turned to Chevrolet leaving WTCC. John Hindhaugh has confirmed that SEAT Sport have asked around their regional distributors to commit funding to their official return to WTCC (think Dealer Team BMW), but also confirmed that SEAT UK have ''signed off'' the funding for a 2013 NGTC car, "to be run by a private team", like RML and Northern South did for the Toledo and Leons.

Link to podcast, Series 7, Episode 24 (its around 1hr 34mins): http://audio.rpix.org.uk/mwm/7/mwm7-24.mp3

Commence speculation.

He said "signed off on a programme", that's not necessarily the same as funding an NGTC car. Could be as little as giving approval / moral support to a privateer team.

Hmm that's a strange one, as SEAT apparently blocked Dan Welch's plan of building an Exeo.

There's the new Seat Toledo that is coming out this year or next. It's like a saloon that works like a hatchback.

Robb Holland to take Tony Gilham's Civic seat for Snetterton and Knockhill.

Tony plans to race too, so I wonder what he'll be running...

Good to hear he is mad about touring cars and the BTCC. Interesting that HPD is helping him to get a drive over here.
