He won the Champ Car Atlantic championship in 2005 and did a fantastic job. For those who don't know, the atlantic championship is a great series that used to be a support series to Champ Car and now follows ALMS around to most of their events.

Yeah, unfortunately then the CCWS seat he got was lousy - a year when Conquest had no money and if I remember correctly the Zwolsman family had a bit of trouble away from the track (I think)...
Will be interesting to see how he goes as he as been out of the seat for a while and the Atlantic yeat that he won was not stellar... |

True enough - IIRC he beat Kasements, Legge and a bunch of folks who've gone absolutely nowhere, though someone is free to correct me.
As far as the Kolles testers go (surely we have to be talking racers here, given the late date), I am a little lukewarm. I think Albers and Krumm are good choices, as both have Audi proto experience and both have proto-GT car experience (counting DTM and Super-GT as two sides of the same high-tech silhouette racer coin). The others have not proved themselves at all in this discipline, though each has a decent resume. We'll see how they go. With some experienced sportscar pilots without drives, however, I find the selection a little galling - why not grab someone like Warren Hughes if you're going for people without substantial budget (thinking Albers and Krumm here)? |

Was that actually ever more than someone's hopeful ungrounded supposition on a forum? If not, then it can't really be surprising...
Anyway, everyone but Bakkerud still seems to be referred to as a candidate. Meyrick really comes out of nowhere though. I guess he had British F3 National class success? Is that what it takes to step into a top-flight proto these days? |

Christijan Albers tested today and he says the was only there because Kolles asked him and he could help to determine the differences between the 2008 and 2009 spec car.
He also said we shouldn't look to much into it. So I guess the chance is small that he will drive the R10? For our Dutch fans, he said the following: Quote:

Yes, the run-in I'm talking about occured in late 06/early 07, which sort of affected his son's chances of getting a Champ Car seat...

They place solar panels around the track and store the electricty in batteries which can heat up the tires during the night

Think you'll find that was a Jenser lola without the Audi engine (ie they acquired the chassis)
