Many critizice IMSA but tweaking 0,4mm off from that huge waiverwagon restrictor was at least a (small) step into right direction. Too bad ACO doesn't care, their only semi-sensible move regarding the matter was that post-Spa adjustment last year. |

Question: Why are the P1 cars(adui and Peugeot) going 10 secs slower than there best laps for multiple laps. theyve been lappingin the 1.20's. That cant be traffic. thatd be terrible.

However I find Peugeot drivers are more consistantly in fast laps (between 1'09 and 1'15), wherehas Audi's drivers seems to do single or just few fast laps then go to very conservative pace... As usual, the point is not in being the fastest, but testing things out to aquire the most possible datas, although we all now there's a mind game between Audi and Pug about topping the sessions... |

Test session and the factory diesels are just about 1.1 seconds off the pole time last year with 1.8 l less engine... unbelievable.

[RANT ALERT]
Yes it did, as it always does (especially during races)... Years after years those guys are still unable to put a decent and reliable server online. I guess they run the php application on an old school PC, connected to a dial up 56k modem. Were I work we have similar IIS aplications running on a little (~1500€) Dell PowerEdge server with 2003, and lots of students connects randomly all year without any problem. In the last year I think I've restarted it once, and just for an update... In our days it really requires incredible skills to have such unstable online services! Congrats ALMS! [/RANT ALERT] Anyway IIRC there were some alternates live timings (at least there is one) around. I couldn't find it back in my bookmarks now but I'm sure someone will post the link. Then it would be good that mods edit the first post of the topic to add those T&S links please! Quote:

Im predicting something goes horribly wrong with the international stream, like it cuts out on the last lap while theres a cracking battle for the lead between Audi and Peugeot or BMW and Corvette. |

Lol we must share similar medium skills as I'm predicting the same outcome...
Video stream at least have the excuse to need a large bandswidth, and is a relatively recent service, but Live Timing has been working horribly for ages. The fact it's still working so bad means they never bothered fixing it. That's what I find so irritating. |

ALMS' T&S has always tended to be crap when I've tried to use it for test and practice sessions--sometimes it works fine, sometimes it barely works at all, and sometimes it's very schictzo about whether or not it wants to work or not.
Like today, the last 45 minutes of the afternoon test session, the timer kept counting down if you refreshed, but nothing else updated, include the lap counter--though it was interesting to note that Audi up until then ran a lot more laps than Peugeot did, but I can't give an accurate count as T&S died! I can tell you that Tony Stewart won the Sprint Cup race today, as I watched that while waiting in vain hope that T&S would fix itself. When I watched the LMS' T&S from Silverstone, I didn't have any major issues with it. Granted, especially if there was a big gap between cars, it would say that the gap was like 1 sec or something like that until the trailing car crossed S&F, but otherwise, I had no crashes or bizarre happenings with it. |
