Sadly I have to agree with him, alot of the features of Bathurst that make it so great would not stay if they really wanted to run F1 there.

The other thing that I'd worry about is how much of the non-racing atmosphere would be lost if they 'Formula1-ised' the track with more glitz and so-on to attract people who are willing to pay forumla1 prices? I still recall fondly tenting it out at Bathurst and I couldn't imagine it being the same if the track was surrounded by F1 grandstands and so on...

stupid question for the day, if you are a resident on the track, are you allowed to have 100 guests rock up on a race weekend and stay (and watch the race) for free?

Not sure now but they used to be issued with a small number of tickets each (which they needed to get to their homes) and could buy more from the organisers.

Axeman, no.
For all full circuit events, resident foc entitlement is 13 spectator passes and 4 vehicles passes. Need both to gain access.

1:48...not too shabby, 20 seconds faster than the course record.
