Bad news
From http://www.endurance-info.com/articl...d=3746&thold=0 The Arena team has just confirmed to the ACO that the Zytek won't be ready in time for the 75th 24 Hours of Le Mans. Mike Earle has confirmed this morning to Daniel Poissenot that he has to withdraw the car from the race. |

I wonder with so much accident damage they might have known quite quickly that the car wasn't fixable in time and not even tried to find a replacement for Chilton.

The damage does not look so bad. Maybe they also feared the throttle cable problem can not be resolved.

Possibily the suspension hardpoints are knackered or through the tub altogether ? Im gutted for them but I feel that they are a not very well prepared team ..... working on the car since last year , late for LMS season opener , and now this ..... |

come on I love 04s, I'm waiting for your comments, what was it.......something along the lines of a loss of form is temporary, but class is permanent?......sorry, but Zytek have nobody to blame but themselves.......poor preparation me thinks.
yes I agree, throttle cables are basic engineering........its not hard to learn from everyone elses mistakes and incorporate them into your design. |

Alan McNish summed up Audi's success really well last week. He said something to the effect that when they have a problem they fix it correctly the first time. I wish these privateers could do the same.

For such a large organisation, relative to Pesarolo and Creation, they do seem to have more than their fair share of niggly problems that you'd expect to be sorted first time out.

The delay between Test and qualifs seems to be too short in case of important crash.
It could have been the same decision with the Courage n°13 ; we could have had only 53 cars instead of 55. It's a shame that ACO cannot invite a competitor at the last minute, as it was possible many years ago (less costs, logistics...) |

If I understand this correctly, Hillebrand's name was on the car for scrutineering.
from EI: "Nous aurons tout de même une pensée pour Val Hillebrand dont le nom figurait aujourd'hui sur l'arceau de la n°13 lors du Pesage." |
