I watched Touring car masters on Sunday too. Just happened to flick the TV on and it was on. Had a good snippet on the GTHO phase 4 and Bathurst and how it never made it. I was thinking that it was a a great lead up by TV3 for bathurst... Then I realised I was actually watching TV1.

made the same mistake, but it was a good one to make. loved the battle between the Mini and the mustang.

Yes that was a wicked battle.
The Mustang locked up and then decided to take a short cut through the next corner and straight into the side of the mini. Would love to have been in the pits when they got back. I am sure a few words would have been shared.

Poor mini had no hope once it came onto the finish straight with the HP of the Mustang to blow it away for the win

Bathurst in HD

Just wanted to let you folk know first, that we have shaken some money out of the bosses wallet so this Sundays live coverage will now be in Full High Definition.

Sure , we get it wrong some times...but surely now this must qualify as us getting it right.

I can confirm that we will be in 1080i. (Terrestrial Freeview & Sky HD)

Kiwi viewers watched the race finish around 15 minutes before Aussie viewers last year too...

so Mr Knowitall, if you so flippin clever answer the question:

how come we can get full HD, but the Aussies apparently are not ??

are TV3 filming their coverage in full HD and beaming it t NZ? no,doubt it. so if the coverage in OZ is SD, how come ours is full HD, as i was of the impression that it had to be filmed in HD, for it to be veiwed in HD, and if Aussie is getting it in SD, then does that not mean it is filmed in SD.

BTW, i am not up with all the technocrap, and was merely asking the question.

It doesn't matter Joe you can't get HD on your old Philco. I have an old Pye colour tv I can give you.

Strewth Joe, I wonder if you would be that gnarly face to face?

Not sure what the Australian audience has to do with us, but since you were so nice I looked it up (Google by the way). Ch7's main channel isn't in HD, but 7Mate is, and the race will be broadcast in HD on that carrier.

Note that like 3, 7 is merely a broadcaster (albeit the Host), the race is covered by V8SC TV, they provide the HD (1080i) signal for those willing to pay extra for it, otherwise it is downgraded to SD (576p).

What I was trying to point out previously, is that we are not alone in at times failing to please some fans with our coverage.

Hope this helps.

As I pointed out, I just don't see how what is broadcast on Oz networks has any relevance to us. Sorry if I am missing something.

Cheers Rusty,

Sorry FA, I should have checked your flag. Obviously we're excited to have it in HD in NZ, but I understand that CH7's main signal is only Standard def - but 7Mate is HD. What do the Oz listings say?

Thank you Shaun. i merely asked a question, as i was curious as to how we got HD, but the Australian fans were whinging they they were not. your post has cleared this up.

BTW, we will only be watching the Shootout online.......... so we can have a sleep in on Sunday. buurp
