So the car went up the Goodwood hill, looked better in reality than the release pictures. On track it looks similar to the GT3 if you ignore the huge roof scoop, sounds the same, have to say I’m surprised that it seems to have as much aero as it does, expected it to look more like the GT4.

I am sceptical that it will be much slower than a GT3 in the hands of a Pro. But since the series is Am based we never know. It looks a little more advanced than I expected.

I think the cornering speeds will be significantly lower. Not just because the aero probably isn't as detailed but because the weight of the car should be higher as well.

Could an AM make similar times with both cars then? |

Better photos on Endurance Info, and they are also expecting it to be GT2

Looks like a baby 720s GT3, so much for high power low aero.

KTM is low everything, power and especially weight. Supposed to be unique in that sense. Not sure what the bop is for it but the car should be at or under 1000kg in gt4 spec originally. I'd wager on this new one being a lot lighter and less powerful than other gt2s.

This car seems longer and with longer wheelbase than the GT4. Endurance-info says that they are studying several directions, with different engines. Will the Audi-Lamborghini V10 be one of them? |

New SRO GT2

Proportionally the new car is a lot closer to an R8 or 911 than it is the X-Bow. Big improvement in looks I think I’m sure this will still be the smallest and lightest car in class Looking at that pic again I just noticed it’s still branded x Bow... curious as it’s a completely different car, dimension etc |

Kind of reminds me of the Lotus Elise GT1, which also started out with a small, light and nimble car and distorted it into something that had very little in common with the model it was loosely based on.

I think it looks great. Maybe they will make a road version of it. I thought that was a requirement for gt2? I also think it is kinda sad that an xbow gt4 is lighter than the future prototypes

More info about KTM concept car.
https://sportscar365.com/industry/re...t-gt-race-car/ The concept is based around an unusually small engine: a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder Audi powerplant. Currently, the car has been running with an output of around 400 horsepower from the Audi road car engine, although Reiter says they plan to “see what is possible with 600 or more horsepower”. “At the moment, definitely it would overshoot GT4 completely, but it’s not necessarily a GT2 car,” said Reiter. “We are now testing it, seeing, and then hopefully in October or November we’ll make a decision for which championship it’s useful, for which kind of racing.“ |

I think they would like to but they'll have to get that engine up and durable at higher HP, it has to compete with a Porsche GT2 car. And it doesn't have the name to help it either.

It won't need a full '700hp' since it's going to probably be super lightweight. The Xbow GT4 has to be ballasted to not be too quick in GT4. I would think the same will happen with this car if it's in GT2. The only thing I wonder is if this is going to be a road model too. GT2 is supposed to be based off of road cars. Porsche and Audi are already pushing it with their 935 GT2 and R8 'convertible' GT2 that's no longer a convertible.

I don't know the details on the races or who is allowed. But I haven't read anything saying the 935 is not allowed for additional races. I admittedly don't follow the news on this that closely tough. I have a fear this series will turn into a homologation special one with Audi and Porsche (again) spending big money or taking specialized cars to the competition.

I think it’s fair to say we could see 5-6 manufacturers in the first few years.
That doesn’t mean we won’t still just see a bunch of VAG branded cars racing each other. |

Obviously Skoda, Seat and VW wouldn't enter... they dont make sportscars? Bentley, maybe in the future. Its actually a sensible idea for Bentley, seeing as its amateur focused. Be nice to se Lamborghini in, they wanted to enter their Super Trofeo car modified, which would look great next to the new R8 Spyder GT2. Love to see the KTM end up in GT2, Glickenhaus has clearly stated their intention for a GT2 for next year. Ferrari seem likely, Aston Martin are watching. Who else? Cant see Mclaren biting just yet, AMg have ruled themselves out for now if i remember rightly. Cant see Lexus, Nissan or Honda jumping in, they barely support their GT3 programmes |

Two questions:
- Can anyone point me to a link of the ruleset? - Any way to stream? ... - Can I ask more questions? - Is there a spec tire? - Length of races? - Driver changes? I'm vaguely interested in the new class and breed since WEC seems to be doing more and more to convince me to not pay attention. |

I think you have more questions than the SRO is prepared to answer. And as it seems to be ALL Am drivers I'm not sure who's paying to actually produce the racing for streaming. I can't find anything more recent than the release by SRO saying the first race will now be Porsche only at Barcelona in September. It seems like beyond that who knows.
