If this race restarts then this SC probably bumps the #7 up to 5th.
Before that round of pit stops, the gap between the 3 and the 11 was 6 seconds. Afterwards it was 50 seconds. Not sure where SMP lost the most time. |

DragonSpeed should've pitted earlier to achieve the driver time. We knew this weather was coming, and when it does the SC surely follows.

The way the SC has come out, it's pinned the #7 behind the #8 and opened the gap to the #1 Rebellion.

Damn #91 drive through... guess that doesn't help the manufacturers championship.

It took a long time to give the 91 a penalty, which was then given it at a point where it couldn't take it.
Cutting 10 minutes off the race might allow DragonSpeed to keep the win despite drive time violations. |

#92 might have won the drivers championship.

Wonder if #77 can win the championship.

I've seen snow in June in England but is that a first for a race at Spa?

Fair enough. I just can't remember a race Spa being affected by snow, then again there will have been many races at Spa, which don't have quite the high profile this one has.

I guess they were just about to call another SC as it had just got really bad again and similar to the SC period earlier in that hour. In which case there wouldn’t have been able to regroup and go again within the 11 minutes so you might as well stop the race.

It was a decent race, when there was racing. Toyota again dominated during the weather. I really hope the lone team who boycotted the new lmp1 tires reconsiders because Le Mans may be a snooze unless Toyota have an issue that puts them back a few laps and they have to make it up through sheer pace. That wouldn't be a great thing but it would be more 'fun' to watch than them running around 3 seconds per lap faster than everyone else out front. GTE kept it interesting though and the Ferrari's looked competitive for a while. As did the BMW's. Thankfully it wasn't another Porsche win even though they've locked up the title.

I was surprised and impressed at how the race continued throughout the weather with relatively few incidents. It really was amazing how quickly it changed - sunny to sleet in less than a lap. All credit to drivers and race control for keeping the show (literally) on the road.

That was fun.
First thoughts: Well done to mashals/camera operators/anyone else working outside in that filth. No retirements! And therefore, encouraging reliability from the P1 privateers (except for this: https://www.motorsport.com/wec/news/...gears/4381785/) . OK, the cars were under less strain than usual because of generally lower speeds, but still. Hopefully that carries over to LM and we get a decent race or two behind the Toyotas, ie Rebellion vs SMP, and ByKolles vs Dragonspeed. |
