That P1 HPD makes the most evil sound leaving its pit stall!

Great overtakes by Fernandez on Henzler and Sharp on Magnussen, nice and clean.

Decent race, and worth staying up for.
Good coverage from Hindy/Shaw and reasonable footage, but main thrust for me is 2 hours is almost exactly the wrong format for current LM format racing, stripping away almost all of the ebb and flow that really makes sportscar racing great. Other big takeaway was the performance of Conquest - the Morgan Nissan combination put them general comfortably faster than the HPDs - which should probably send a couple of ripples through Europe - what price Oak looking to run Nissans soon? |

Was a good race, really liked that move by Sharp, well done.
A bit strange that in the US the stream was live but the broadcast was slipped by 15 min or so, not a big deal really but a little strange when you're chatting online with others. Man that Wirth HPD is a beast. |

Yeah the Dyson was understeering but that HPD was just carving the turns. They could use any line they wanted. wide in and tight out, wide in wide out and still be quick.

Dyson had no answer for HPD last night. Sad the Evora got put out of action so early, stupid challenge(d) classes.

For the number of cars competing for the overall win, I thought the show was good. GT never really disappoints.

As for the coverage, perhaps I am used to mediocrity as I didn't have any issues with it other than they had the wires crossed with who is calling what pictures at the beginning and the sound is off a split second from the pictures. I also hate the minute 45 second delay for Xbox Live, but who cares; I saw the race all the way through on a 50 inch tv, with Hindy and Shaw on the mic. |

Last nights race was ruined, i just could not get into the flow of it due to the constant adverts on the stream every 5 minutes.

Did anyone else notice that there was a corner worker at T5 just waiving the green flag ALL day, in every shot. There were several incidents at that corner, but never did I see a yellow flag fly to warn drivers there was someone around the corner who'd spun. Pappas' incident was at T1/2, but still I'd say in general, the corner workers did a poor job at that race.

I'm just watching the replay on Motors TV and saw the coverage of the Pappas incident. Unfortunate for sure. But to blame the corner worker and in such a manner is just wrong in my view. Corner workers are not paid, they are volunteers who graciously give their time so we can race. If it were not for all the unsung heroes who give all their time there would be no racing. Maybe it was the heat of the moment, red mist etc. But Pappas' diatribe on TV was unnecessary and wrong.

Good race in P1 and GT, some great battles. Delighted with ESM's performance [for once], if only Sharp would up his game a bit more as he is still screws up too much... but the late move past the second Corvette at least was nice. Driving standards in LMPC were a joke again but what would you expect
The only thing that lacked in the ESPN2 live coverage was that they never mentioned the reason for the lone caution. Otherwise a nice package and even mr O'Connell managed to be less irritating than usually |

Variety in durations is what makes this series great, longer races are awesome but it doesn't always have to be endurance. Shorter races are more marketable too, you can see why TV packaging is superior to European counterparts... LMS sometimes bores me greatly with it's standard six hours (or 1000km as it used to be) Last edited by Deleted; 15 Apr 2012 at 20:11. |

Agreed, and I would actually love it if they switched up the formats even more... why not have two 100 mile races on some weekends?
Or even two heat races with one driver per car and then a longer feature race with driver change. |

I agree a street circuit is different animal altogether but in a mere two hour race, doing driver changes and considering it a an endurance race just seems a little silly to me.

Umm who says it's an endurance race?
FIA GT has driver changes in 1 hour sprint races, within 10 minute pit window... now that's what you call silly |

I am seeing the replay on the ALMS website, and I was rather surprised not to hear Hindaugh and Shaw on the commentary.
