I think the problem is visas - and if I understand correctly they're not Russian, they're from Tatarstan (sp?) and that may be treated differently to Russia for visas? I don;t know why getting a visa for here is more difficult than any of the other European countries though?
I think the trouble is, is that the UK is not part of Schengen. A visa for one Schengen country can be used in every other country.

Do we know that this is actually the reason? And im not sure why you would question their elegibility to come and race here?

I also think saying there will be 25 cars is apart from anything doing a disservice to div 1a & div 2

Just booked the ferry and the hotel in London prior to the race!
Can anyone tell me where the camping on the circuit actually take place? And is there a nice warm shower available evening and morning? Or better of booking a cheap hostel or hotel? Leaving tomorrow early to catch the ferry at 12h00 in Dunqerque

Sitting in JFK waiting for the storm to pass before coming over. Say hi if you can, I will have a Rally America shirt on and my girlfriend will be the only lunatic with an American flag (crush on Tanner)!

I'd imagine it will be on the hill above the paddock, but maybe best to wait until someone who actually knows comes along.

The showers are in the toilets at the far end of the paddock (away from the track).

DEFINITELY not! You won't get any kind of atmosphere in a hostel! Some of us only live a few miles away from the circuit and we'll be camping anyway; much more fun.

The only lunatic with an American flag, perhaps, but definitely not the only lunatic; it is rallycross, after all...

Will come and say hello, Mark, and try to sell you a car again!

Can't make Sunday but am hoping to be there Monday, will try to meet up with a few of you.

Was expecting to use the day to gather material for a new book on Rallycross but have been firmly advised I won't get media accreditation so will have to contend with being a spectator. Can't help thinking it's because of my involvement with the Open Championship - trying to promote Rallycross sure is more difficult than it used to be, feels a bit like a kick in the teeth after all I did for rallycross in the 70's & 80's. Things have certainly gone downhill - or am I the only one who thinks that?

Hi GM!

I'm positive you are not the only one that thinks that. The question is how can it change? It's been done to death on here and there doesn't seem to be an easy answer

Anyway, I will be there for definite on Monday and hopefully on Sunday! Looking forward to it

Good luck to all the Brits and in particular Hal Ridge. It's been a long time coming, but it looks like to car is finally done.

Looking forward to seeing Liam on the top step!!

Stu.

Thanks Stu, Rallycross is a terrific sport and I don't want to see it suffer in the way it has done over the more recent years. Yes, it's been done to death on here & and it doesn't seem to get any better, but it's great to see so much support for it on Ten Tenths - as long as you lot out there have a passion for it, there is always hope. Keep the (constructive) comments coming and I'll keep plugging away.

Bill

If I can help in any way I would love to.

Been involved with MN and Autosport over the years and have a tremendous collection of books, programmes and memories (some yours)!!

Can't believe you cant get media accreditation. You were responsible for many people getting into the sport through reports and video's.

How short sighted, but then again when the main people involved are trying to charge good money a year for a website with a few updated pics and no news then what do you expect!! Money and power talks my friend.

Anyway, moving on.

Hoping to be there on Sunday, despite the shenanigans, fever is still high!! Nice also to see a few lower budget Brits have a go in the other classes.

Hope you do it make it down Bill great to see you back at a european event, the political debate between the 2 different parties is one that will go on and like has been said its all about this big event in the English Calender so just for this weekend all the other crap can be forgotten about

Chunder, sometimes I despair at your comments. Just remember that the so called 'main people' with the, as you put it, money and power, are the very people that worked tirelessly to get the ERC back to Britain for us all to enjoy.
I say 'good on the main people with the money and power, thank you very much for putting Britain back on the ERC map, and long may they reign even if they can't make everything perfect they are doing a damned good job.
I certainly will enjoy every minute of what is in store this weekend and I hope everyone else does too.

Good luck to the other brits and hope kevin goes as well as he did at Kerlabo

I think Kev could prove to be a dark horse. He was on Liam's pace at the BRC back in April. Maybe he could make the B final outright.

Just looking forward to finding out now!!

Kev was quick, but I saw on ERC24 that Doran was off that pace at the ERC. Will be very interesting, cos Foust has track knowledge and was quick at the BRC too. And Pat got into the B Final last year, so who knows?! Cannot wait.

Godfrey to win Div 1a - he'll have to sneak the 2.0L engine in though

Am just hoping that as many Brits make the finals as possible, and echo the well wishing for Hal, been a while to see the new car, and hope all goes well.

Come on Sunday!

Erm scratch comments, I mixed up various people with other various people.

I applaud the people at Lydden for getting an ERC round back, a past correspendent should, really be able to attend with accreditation but apparently this is only the tip of the iceberg! Enough said.

Jernberg for Div 1
Bakkerud for 1A
kenis for Div2
Dont care about swifts!! UNless I was in one!!
