My guess is, the winner of tonight's Nationwide race, at Daytona, will be Mother Nature! It does not look promising! Rain starts up again, everytime the get the track anywhere close to drive. Wonder when the rain date is for this one, tomorrow morning/early afternoon, or Sunday afternoon/evening? I don't think they're going to run this one tonight. Of course, i could be wrong, but I don't think so, at this time.

They got the race in. I'm surprised, considering the storm activity that had been in the area. Thought Chase has a shot, but not enough gas. Amazing the 62 car didn't hit anyone, spun through traffic, no "big one". Hell of a job of driving and a whole lot of luck on that one!

Kahne came from nowhere. Well done to him. Thought Smith had it in the bag although Larson was very determined.

That's the kind of plate racing I like to see, close competitive racing with as few as possible people being torn up. I hate seeing crashed cars. Also, I like seeing a finish like that.

What if the Nationwide race at Indianapolis was held at the road course on Saturday afternoon, right after the Tudor SportsCar race?

Chase Elliott drove one Hell of a race, Saturday, to win the Nationwide race, at Chicagoland! His crew chief use short pitting stratagy to gain the upper hand, which was a risk, because he could well have lost a lap, if the caution had come out, during the green flag stops. Regardless, this kid is very calm in stressful situations, handled the pressure extreamly well and will get in there and race with the best of them, well holding his own. He races much more like a seasoned veteran than an 18 year old rookie! Very mature, for a driver so young. This kid is going to be the biggest star to come out of a group of new stars! Future multiple Sprint Cup race winner and future multi-time Sprint Cup Champion!

Haven't watched Nationwide in years, how long have the spoilers been so huge? Looks like a door stuck back there.

Seconded with the hate, don't know the numbers but as soon as I saw that dumb a move the only thought was Busch sisters since Robby Gordon's not around, I don't think.

"The Busch sisters"; hehehe. The spoilers have been pretty tall for sometime, but I don't know if they get taller on the road courses or not.
And yes, Kyle whining about his own mistakes is quite old. Taz did say he half closed the door on him, but Kyle's nose was barely to the numbers on the #09's door. Too early to try and out brake Taz there, you big dummy Kyle. Like Taz, he had every chance to get back to the front and he got beat by the better driver yesterday. |

Cognrats to James. Chase just needs to keep consistent like he has been all year. I like Mid Ohio and stockcars on road courses a lot, but I am not sure about the combination of the 2. Just doesn't do it for me like the other road courses. |

Indycars and Mid-Ohio are a perfect match. That being said, did you see the crowd? Have you ever seen a bad crowd at Mid-Ohio? If they keep showing up, keep putting them out there. |

Nationwide now have 3 road courses, a 4th re-visiting Montreal would be ace
Sprint Cup, you just stick with your 2 roadcourses - don't explore other opportunities |

I know it's sacrilege to say it out loud but a spring Nationwide race at Road Atlanta would be a blast. Def NOT Sprint cup though, the 'improvements' would kill the track. But then maybe that's just me looking for an excuse for a third race weekend at the home track.

I think you entirely missed the boat on what Broadrun meant by "kill the track". I think he meant that NASCAR would ruin the track by requiring more run-off, higher catch fences, more garages (less paddock), etc. Basically they would take all the character right out of the facility.
The only way Road America got away with it, is because it's privately owned (THANK GOD). |
