Finski should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi all, super excited for the bathurst weekend, can anyone give me some advice please? I'm planning on driving there with a van and a mattress in the back, is there any close areas like camping grounds I can legally just park and go sleep in the back, no camping setups just the van, cheers.

Probably best to ask at the information centre in Bathurst, they can usually direct people to an appropriate place........there shouldn't be any shortage of spots in the vicinity of Bathurst or surrounding towns.

Finski, do yourself a favour and camp at the campground the track has to offer, great cheap atmosphere with a 50 meter walk to the pit area, cant beat it on the fri/sat night...

I would be calling into the tourist centre and finding out where any ammentities blocks are and then you can park pretty much anywhere if your sleeping in your van. You may find that some camping grounds may not have resident passes and you might be able to sneak in and grab a shower.
When are you arriving ?
More than welcome to join us for our dinner or I'm sure that we will organise a catch up somewhere.
Blue, check your PM's.

5 weeks to go and still waiting for driver announcements involving numerous cars that will feature strongly.
Waiting for Erebus x 2 cars although you'd think that Schneider & Engel will be in 1 and Davison & Muscat in the other, 1 x AF Corse car, Nismo, 1 x VIP driver, 1 x Salmon Audi driver, 1 x M-Sport Bentley car, 2 x Craft Bamboo cars and 2 x Motionsport drivers.
I'm sure that there will be some world class drivers to be announced yet.

Wonder if Jack LeBrocq will get a run at Erebus. Is Muscat still involved with them. Hoping he tops of his championship with a win in the 12 hour

Pretty cool huh ...

2015 will be the best race ever at Bathurst - by a long way.

And best of all, I think there is even better things to come beyond this race in 5 weeks time ...

Bathurst is basically a suburb of Europe now ! How good is this ?

Really looking forward to qualifying on the Saturday.
Will any of the Class A cars risk running in Qually #1 with the slower cars whilst it may be a little cooler and if it doesn't work, then they've still got their Class A Qually #2 session to follow ?
Remembering that Qually #1 is an hour long and Qually #2 is only 20min.

Just been announced that one of the Henley entered RX8 grand ams will be piloted by an all Sports Sedan driver line up, congrats go to Michael Robinson, Shane Woodman, Shane Bradford and Phil Crompton....

Speaking of sports sedan drivers, would love to see Ricciardello and Hossack team up in a class A car....

Interesting news Nadz. I don't recall Phil ever running @ Bathurst. Shane W may of in another class and of course Shane B and Robbo have.

Cheers for the replies guys. Only concerns about camping at the track are, if I park my van on the camping ground can I drive out anytime to, go to the top of the mountain, drive to shops etc. I thought there was only specific times you can get in/out?

Also what are the night times like, I assume its much less rowdy than the 1000, what goes on in the evenings?

Cheers

Access to and from the camp grounds and the outside world are 24/7 during the event via the access road that goes under the circuit. I have camped at the event since 2012 and has never been an issue.

Having camped at Lemans and Nurburgring last year for the 24 hour races the 12 hours of bathurst will be a walk in the park. 2 hour drive as opposed to 22 hour flight and 5 hour train ride from stuttgart. I loved meeting all the europeans and telling them about bathurst i was suprised to hear how many tuned in to watch the 12 hour online. They are not fans of SVG with some describing him as a ducking moron but guess they wont have to worry about that this time around. Super excited for the 12 hour i love how the motorsport community helps fans out from the other side of the world. My trip wouldnt have been possible if not for the kind strangers that went totally out of their way to help me so if there are any people coming overseas that need anything feel free to ask and ill do my best. See you all on the mountain.

Surprisingly Canto looks like being on the outer - would have thought he would be snapped up, especially looking at some of the vacant drives (atleast publicly) still open

Unfortunately Gimmi Bruni won't be joining Clearwater, but still a great line up
with Vilander & Griffin joining Weng.

I think Robinson is in the other car, the other three with Bruce
Could change of course
Hear 2 scribes for the other car but may not happen, money and all that
