just waking up to find the #8 is back in the lead, despite going a lap down last night.
How did that happen, or shouldn't I ask? |

I think we've been spoilt in recent years & we where probably due a race like this. hopefully Toyota get their win finally this year and then the ACO can get rid of these ridiculous privateer handicaps for next year

I actually cheated and fall asleep, and just found out Dragonspeed is a goner and not much else happening.
Have Toyota not managed to fail yet? Amazing. |

Disappointed to see the #10 in the wall at Porsche curves, plucky team, real shame for them.
At this rate #11 will be 5th in class, definitely a case of what might have been, if it wasnt for those annoying sensor issues! |

Maybe it was tire choice too. I think the #7 car is just as fast but they've been slower while ahead. I don't know why. I do know that Lopez did a quintuple stint and then did a quadruple stint. He was probably fatigued a bit.

That's probably the reason they don't have one of the cars going after the distance record. They can't do it with the #8 since it's too much risk and if the #7 does it and ends up winning, it's not what they want either. Happy they're (likely) getting their long-overdue win but that whole Alonso nonsense just makes it way too political for my taste. |

Aleshin with a PB 3:20.9. Still moving even though he's back there in 49th.

The #7 seemed to be slower during the night. Lopez and Conway's first stints were good, at night they weren't.

As Lopez got into the car with fresh tires he could post some good laptimes but it faded very quickly if I remember correctly

Also leaves a bitter taste that Hulkenberg & potentially Alonso will have won this race at their first attempt where the likes of Ant Davidson, Stephan Sarrizan & many others have tried for years to win this race to no avail |

295 laps done. If the Toyota can do 3:24 laps on average to the end, 401 laps are possible at best.

I think there’s a lot of pessimism at play here.
No idea how you’d persuade the likes of Lopez and Kobayashi to not win Le Mans on purpose. |

How do we know what Toyota’s approach to the distance record is? The only thing I’ve heard is Radio Le Mans saying they wanted Alonso to get pole, fastest lap and the distance record in the preview. So basically I’ve not heard anything credible at all!
I would be interested to hear what had Toyota said. |

It's a bid sad, because getting the distance record would make this a "legit win" even for people who are rolling their eyes about Toyota racing themselves but they have limited their strategic options with favoring one of their cars so obviously. Rob Leupen was in the ES booth just now and even he admitted that the #7 crew is having to deal with the short end of the stick this week as within the team everything's focusing on the #8 a little bit. |

Shouldn't getting the distance record being the logical goal if you're racing a car that has set the Le Mans lap record last year and is barely any slower this year?
