The rule was brought in when mechanics were clipped by sideways cars. Honestly, the pit lane is such a dangerous place that I really don't mind it.

Penalty taken. Retains the lead.

Well, the FIA is involved in the WEC (to what extent vs the ACO I don't know). I know that the wheelspin rule has been around since 2006, but it's not like the pits are crowded like they were even back in 2000, and it wasn't an issue back then.

WIth the new rules, were they are allowed to change tires while refuelling, it is not as big an issue, as it might have been before?

When you get a puncture, does that count towards your allotment of tires for the race? Or is it a freebie?

I doubt that the #7 will lose the lead with the puncture unless there's damage.



However, they'll lose a good chunk of their lead.
