Back on topic- can 'modern' alloy rads with plastic tanks be repaired? Looks like seeping where tank crimped on. |

The core would have to be un-crimped and the plastic end tank removed, then, if the core isn't damaged it can all be re-built and re-crimped using a new gasket. Then pressure tested to make sure there's no more leaks. (This is also hoping that the lugs on the core can stand being bent back & forth a multitude of times without breaking!) It may be simpler/cheaper to either have the rad re-cored or get a new one... Last edited by VIVA GT; 15 Dec 2014 at 14:49. Reason: Spelllling! |

Thanks, it's what I was thinking. An alternative could be to get a alloy bod to replace the plastic tanks with welded alloy replicas, but I'll take the replacement rad route. A non OEM one is just about affordable!

Thanks. So not £38K, not Gp1 and a finished listing. Them's my excuses.....
Not sure about 50 miles in 14 years and rest of time in carcoon- bit pointless IMO! BTW I could pick the odd hole if judging car for concours- the cable tied wiring loom in engine compartment for one! To get back on topic, perhaps mine will be worth as much when restored. Also ziebarted from new, but that doesn't mean no rust- just less....... Last edited by Mike Bell; 16 Dec 2014 at 07:06. |

That one not 38k no, grp1? No.But the Red car I reffered to was
To be fair it ended nearly two weeks ago now, perhaps the owner had the listing removed after it sold-caused quite a stir over here. |

Well the Zeibart certainly worked on my car . . . cost me £600 to get it all blasted off !!! 1/2" thick in the rear arches. I only paid £630 for the car.

I thought it was compulsory to fit a Carlos Fandango bias pedal box with shiny bits and snazzy grippy foot pads etc?

Iain, there are loads of Mk2 master cylinders on eBay. Would have thought late Mk1s with servo tower would use the same one? |

Sometimes that site works well, but not always! Some 968 plastic bits I needed were way cheaper bought new from Porsche than the used tat on fleabay......
